Moods and views of St. Barth - real weather, real-time

I finished Haiti and Dominican republic bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather: MDCY :airplane: MDPC :airplane: MDJB
Some clouds at departure, but then clear sky all the way. But it was quite windy. And very turbulent. On 1st leg I had 15kn tailwind, on 2nd leg it was 15kn headwind. At least my landings with strong wind were much better than last time.

Just Landed in MKJP (Norman Manley in Jamaica), ILS is aligned to taxiway instead of correct 12-ILS.

Vienna - Warsaw, via Prague

Seems appropriate that very low clouds and snow rolled in just in time for overflying the memorial & museum

Took the Bagolu 172 mod up from Placerville - still enjoying vbazillio’s mod there. It was right after the update and the plane kept turning hard left or right almost uncontrollably, I managed to get to the runway after doing a few donuts. I flew to dump the plane at Cameron Park and start the game again with the Bagolu mod unlinked. Of course, it was not as much fun, so I just left it to see if Bagolu might update or if I needed to do something. Film at 11.
Beautiful weather with the storms still a day away off the coast.

A friday morning Stuttgart (EDDS) to Berlin (EDDB) flight in the longitude:

It was a nice flight, had some cloudy weather, ATC on departure. Too bad there was no ATC on arrival, and even the PAPI were off, though that might have been because of the freeware airport addon. Overall a quite enjoyable flight, I will upload the video later.

I wanted to start Cuba bush-trip, but there was mist at the departure. Visibility was acceptable, but horizon was not visible. So I decided to start Appalachian summits bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather: 26A :airplane: KRMG
Weather was a bit marginal. No wind, but mostly overcast at around 4000". So this was low flight at 3500", sometimes lower. Navigation was a bit tricky. There were no many landmarks. Especially staying low, I couldn’t see further cities or lakes. So I mostly just stayed on course. Interestingly I could see airport lights already from 20nm away.
ASOS informed about calm wind. So I chose runway 01. But then on short final noticed that I have tail wind based on windsock. So I did go around and did circuit to 19. And then nice smooth landing .

I’m not as a rule a great buyer of scenery - usually only if it’s an airfield I know I’ll be using on multiple occasions, and then only if flightsim.to has let me down.

However, I allowed myself to be tempted by France VFR’s two payware packs: Paris VFR Airports and Paris Heliports and Helipads.

Naturally, I picked a fine sunny day in Paris to have a look at what I bought:

Well, I didn’t say I was good at picking things. If you’re wondering what live weather was like in Paris this afternoon…

Here’s what it looked like on approach to the last of my landings of the day:

And here’s what it looked like after my last approach of the day:

I’ve done better landings in worse conditions, but by this point I’d been flying for an hour and thirty-five minutes and it was my twelfth (and last) landing.

Excuses, excuses.

Incidentally, I made landings at locations from both packs and have been left feeling not in any way displeased with my purchases.

A quick hop from Rome Fiumicino (LIRF) to Catania Fontanarossa (LICC) in the FBW A320N:

It was a pleasant flight, I hope all the passengers will say the same

Time for a break from the Carribean, so off to the west coast of Mexico :slightly_smiling_face:

Today’s flight was from MM79 (El Fuerte), at an altitude of 327 ft to MMOF (Guachochl), at 7,993 ft. This is a great 1-hour bush flight in the JMB VL-3 following reservoirs and rivers through rugged mountains and canyons.

The reservoir behind the Miguel Hidalgo Dam:

The reservoir shallows back to its river bed:

The reservoir behind the Luis Donaldo Colosio Murrieta Dam:

Gaining elevation, entering spectacular canyon scenery:

Pit stop: San Ignacio 2 (MX15) a 2073 ft dirt airstrip at the highest point of the flight - 11,300 ft:

Back on our way to Guachochl, more spectacular mountain scenery:

Almost there. Approaching Guachochl:

End of the flight MMOF (Guachochl) airport:

After the Bagolu moment, I opened the Carenado 182. Taxi was flawless, using the same controller settings I used on the 172 in the previous flight. I really like how the mod gave the 172 opening doors, and variable cargo/pax loads. I’ll keep investigating.

At any rate, the flight from Placerville to Yosemite-Mariposa went well, until at the destination when winds from storm about to hit that evening, made landing quite a challenge. Sadly, no Dr Pepper machine after all that.

Another ~ 1-hour bush flight through the deserts of central Mexico in the Cub, this time from Aguaje del Monte, (MMUQ) to Granados (MXNB) via Sahuaripa (MMSH)

Aguaje del Monte is a 1,500 ft grass airstrip at an altitude of 1,807 ft. Facilities are…limited :slightly_smiling_face::

Heading north along the Yaqui river:

The reservoir behind the dam at El Novillo:

A whole lot of nothingness in the desert:

Pit stop at Sahuaripa (MMSH). At 6,361 ft, there will be no problems with overshooting the runway in the Cub!
Don’t forget to check your fuel levels for the next leg:

Heading north over the town of Sahuaripa, the airport receding in the distance:

Follwing the Shaua Ripa river north…:

… To our destination, the town of Granados:

The airport is a 2,864 ft dirt strip above the town. There are no facilities here at all. You do have enough gas to take off again, don’t you??:
