Just checking its still there as someone said it wasnt.
Hurghada, Egypt (HEGN) to Ben Gurion Airport, Israel (LLBG), in the FBW A20NX:
Boarding:
Awaiting at runway header for Pharao1960 to land…:
…and his little follower:
Departing at last:
Crossing Red Sea:
Don’t know which is this structure, but it got my attention:
Some clouds over Tel Aviv:
Something was messed up with ILS approach (regarding altitudes), so I had to ignore ATC:
Fortunately I realised in time, so I could land softly:
Completed the Mendenhall Glacier Tour (FS2004) activity. A nice relaxing flight after several hectic ones in the DC-3. All the bells and whistles do make the scenery look good. Almost Zen like. sPK
A day in the Shetland Islands: Out Skerries (EG78) to Unst (EGPW):
Leaving EG78. It was a blustery day - not unusual in the islands. Windsock is at 90-degrees:
On the way to Whalsay. A wild & scenic emptiness:
The small town of Lerwick, sheltered from the North Sea winds by the island of Brassay:
The Broch of Mousa. A lonely outpost, seemingly at the end of the world…
A slight detour from the flightplan. On the way to Sumburgh, and squalls:
Back on track to Foula. Only 27 NM from Sumburgh, but could be in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Next stop, if you were to keep heading west (and had enough fuel!): the southern tip of Greenland!
Landing at Foula. A nasty 35-knot crosswind awaits…:
End of the flight, safely parked at Unst:
Flew PAAT to PACD in the fs studios Embraer 170LR
A short flight between Varna, Bulgaria (LBWN) to Ankara (LTAC):
So nice and uneventful flight that there is very little to report…
Except for the approach phase. Again, the problem with the ATC with altitudes made me go missed, set altitudes to my criteria, and then land…
And much better this way:
San Francisco weather got slightly better so I did leg 12 of California dreams bush-trip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather: KCCR CA35
I had to be careful. Cloud ceiling was at 5000ft and strong wind was pushing me to B airspace that I wanted to avoid. But I crossed the bay reached San Rafael airport and landed with about 8kn crosswind.
Then I continued the last leg to CA51. And it was a bit slow flight with 30kn headwind. Unfortunately, when I had the airport in sight, the sim froze
Rather quick flight from Evenes Harstad Narvik(ENEV) to Tromso(ENTC), Iris PC-21, live weather, FSLTL ai traffic.
Time for a bumpy ILS approach to rwy 18 down to minimums.
PACD to PAJN in the fs studios Embraer 170LR
My first Fenix flight on my new PC. After initial CTD, I flew successfully from Orange County (KSNA) to Palm Springs (KPSP).
LAS to Burbank in the PMDG B738. A bit more of a challenge than the A320 but that’s sort of the fun in it. But I do say, the B738 is so much more smooth in the flare. even with a 5 knt tailwind. Still bumpy over the Sierra Nevada’s. This would have a been a fun little jaunt IRL.
TBM from Goteborg to Oslo:
Log book of interesting events and pictures
Not an expert, but I’m on STD barometric pressure at 180000, is that not FL180?
What even … “FL” but giving me a QNH
ATC driving me nuts … FL180 but QNH 19.47, expedite your descend … WHAT DO YOU WANT from me …
So I put it back to STD? No! You are below now. What the …
I’m hoping the AI ATC’s that are always announcded come soon and are actually worth something …
I really don’t get what I’m doing wrong with this altitude. I am 400 ft above, so if I put it to STD then I am good because then I am at 18400 ft and will descend 400 ft. But once I’m there, it is also not “correct” and then it gives me the QNH again, which I don’t need for FL … what even … I wonder if 18000 ft is the transition altitude (although in Sweden it is actually 5000 ft as I understand). Maybe this is not correctly implemented. So I request increase of 2000 ft.
I enjoyed my trip around the Shetland Isles so much that I decided to take a similar day trip around the Orkney Islands:
Apart from the wonderful scenery, this trip allows you to practice many cross-wind landings under live weather conditions!
OK, off we go:
The wide open spaces allow you to land at many scenic spots along the way. This is atop Ward Hill (481m) on the island of Hoy:
Crossing Hoy Sound to the Mainland. The town of Stromness is on the right:
Leaving Sanday, en-route to North Ronaldsay:
End of the flight: Fair Isle Airstrip with Ward hill behind it. I’m guessing those black lines are channels to divert water away from the end of the runway, but they & the boggy areas sorta look like Neolithic rock art too.
Well, it took me three years to do a flight to the sub pens in Groton that Freaky made. Not a lot of development otherwise in the area. Otis ANG to Groton-New London
