Yet another Beyond ATC flight with the TBM from Manchester to London City this time.
Now I did use the speech recognition. It’s quite immersive but it had a really hard time understanding my readbacks of runway numbers and frequencies. Even if I was 100% sure they were correct.
But in that case, just go to Beyond ATC and click the required response. Or just switch frequency anyway.
It did really well to guide me into the approach.

I continued my tour around Atlantic in TBM-930 in real weather: BIKF EFPO
Weather in Iceland was windy and raining. But soon I got over clouds and I had nice 50kn tailwind. The flight itself was uneventful, so I continued reading G3000 manual. This time I covered radar and traffic advisory / alerts.
In Stornoway, I requested localizer approach to rw36 via SAY. Final fix was below clouds and without glideslope I just followed PAPI lights.
There are some broken clouds and it’s possible to see Iceland in far:
This was last dangerous long leg over ocean. Now reaching Europe (although Britain is still technically island) I will turn south. Now I will see again more ground and probably more traffic too.

We finished our Cuban Missile Crisis tour today, landing at Leeward Field at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay. You can read Part 3 at Pee-Wee and Nag’s Sky Tours (and Other Thoughts).
You can reach out and touch Kansas City from here!
An early warning hotel.
A rather severe repurposing of an explosive building.
The spot where everything almost came unglued.
We didn’t order a Code Red.

Sightseeing in Madrid, the scenery is lovely! Took the Rans S6S downtown and through this building because why the heck not? I would like to heap more kudos upon Asobo/Microsoft, these latest updates have been stunning! Gorgeously rendered building and bridges, clearly a lot of love is going into these FREE updates.

It was again nice sunny weather in Sweden, nice for flying. Although, when I checked forecast half day before, it was supposed to rain. Luckily the forecast was wrong.
Kristianstad:
Bromölla
Just after touch-and-go in Ronneby AB some mist formed there. It’s strange, it would form in afternoon.
Why is there this big windmill on base at Kalmar? Or should I fly right pattern and not left?

Not sure where to fly, I tend to check out the latest from my fellow aviators and see if something looks good. This flight was inspired by @dubnewt2648 and his photo of flying through a building in Madrid, Spain. First time I flew around Madrid before, such beautiful sights and lots of soccer fields. But I’ve noticed that when flying over European countries.
Not sure what peoples video preference is for where to view but by my stats it’s Twitch but here’s both places anyways:

I’ve just been in in Los Angeles, landing on elevated helipads including default, payware and photogrammetry, to see if the SU 15 helicopter physics update has got rid of the sudden updraft you would get when crossing from free air onto the elevated helipad - caused, I believe, by ground effect being asessed at one point and so suddenly kicking in as that point crossed onto the helipad and its surroundings.
I tried HPG’s H.145 (custom flight model, so you might not expect much difference) but also the Shrike MD 530F and Cowansim’s H.125. I didn’t experience the old sudden updraft problem with any of them.
Never mind, though, any of that. It was a dull day in Los Angeles but just look at those mountains in the distance!

I’ve been away from the forum for a long time, but here I am again, with what I expect to be the first leg of a very, very long world tour: Luziânia (SWUZ) to Formosa (SWFR), flying over Brasília. I’ll release a short of the beautiful takeoff from Luziânia at my YouTube channel soon. By now, some screenshots and the flight path:

The plan was VFR from Ellensburg WA (KELN) up to Kamloops BC (CYKA). I’d hang out in the valleys.
I didn’t check the weather when planning the flight, simply opted for live weather. Steady rain with a few miles viz. Departed to the southeast, no visible horizon toward the west.
Staying in the valleys kept me VMC as I headed north. Abeam Vernon conditions were gorgeous if I had to divert.
At the north end near WP Scotch Creek the weather is looking ugly to the southwest along the South Thompson river. I could maintain terrain clearance down in the valley, but turning around would be ugly the closer I got to CYKA. I cruised the last 10 NMs down the valley at MDA for LOC Z RWY 27. Finally picked up those ULTRA bright runway lights.
[edit] Apologies for too many jpegs initially.

Over the weekend I ended up getting a HF8 haptic feedback pad. Boy is it fun having the motion element as part of the setup. Ended up flying the 208 with it, and you definite feel a difference between the various prop pitches. It’s also slightly asymmetric due to the centerline of the PT6D in relation to the seat.
I just wrapped up a flight from KPVD to CYUL in the Working Title CJ4 (it’s been long enough I forgot how to program the legs in the proline ) Climbing up to 16.5, I had a constant buffet (only to realize the speed brake was set), once corrected the buffeting disappeared.
Had some Airforce95 Illuminati (stuff) going on when taxing around Trudeau. I had a A21N subbed out as a small low wing GA aircraft circling me doing paparazzi like stuff no more than 20 ft AGL, doing some physics defying stuff. Crossing 24L to get over to Aviation Etectera, he drops behind the facade only to rise back again a couple second later (props to @Fredzachhugo for the spectacle).
Wanted to get a picture, but ‘aviate, navigate, communicate’ (then maybe file a NASA report, hoping you don’t get labeled as a loonie )

Tried for an hour to get Beyond ATC working with my headset. Neither bluetooth nor USB would work. I have no idea what exactly was going wrong.
Windows was super confused about the audio devices. Beyond ATC froze a lot of times, MSFS froze a bit, … beyond frustrating, never left the airport in the end
It’s all very confusing because last time everything went extremely smooth and nothing was updated. I completely do not understand. Better luck next time I guess
