What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

Back in MSFS after a couple of months. I did a flight from KSFO to KRNO (after having to re-configure half of my controls that lost the settings after the last updates).

Crashed a halo pelican around the Charlotte on the return flight from Richmond, came in way to hot after batteries and avionics switched off somehow in flight and I was going so fast I don’t think this aircraft would be very recoverable

We finished the third and final part of our STL to MCI tour today. Head over to Pee-Wee and Nag’s Sky Tours (and Other Thoughts) to give it a read.

That’s the biggest shuttlecock I’ve ever seen!

K.C. sure knows how to do memorials…

…and hotel disasters.

To the moon…or at least Anaheim!

Who needs an airport when you can have some junker cars?

Colonel Jessup, is that you?

Today (technically yesterday) I planned all day to sit down and do a flight in time for the fireworks to start as I flew. I had setup the sim so that it was butter smooth the last time I used it. I sat down, loaded my flight, and the frame rates were subpar, quite jerky and annoying. At 10pm the fireworks never happened. I figured out later that the real time date is based on UTC, but the time is local time based on my machine time… so the sim thought it was 10pm tomorrow night. The frame rates continued to decline, and it was even more annoying. I decided to just land and it was bad landing because of the bad sim performance, so I rage quit it.

Then after I settled down I decided to try flying again and check out the Washington DC scenery. It was butter smooth. I was in the Icon A5 and I decided to land on the water as I’d done many times. It was a perfect landing…best water landing for me yet. Then when the plane came to rest in the water and I was about to lower the water rudder, the screen went blank and the sim claimed I crashed into the water.

I calmly and silently rage quit. And that was the end of my use of this software. It’s always been a disappointment.

Continued my wanderings in the Vision Jet in VR from Burgas (LBBG) to Istambul Ataturk (LTBA) on BeyondATC

Based on all the screenshots, I definitely do not hold my head level, all the screenshots are slanting to the right… :flushed:

Flight was rather short, but fun. I did not record it all, but I did record my flounderings during approach and landing in both 2D and 3D SBS.

Not today but yesterday I took out the new C-46 Commando for a test/ review flight. I went from Kunming to Luliang in China using flying the hump scenery. I created a video on my channel as well. I will put a link below for those interested.

I Managed to work out what I did wrong on my previous shuttle from Manchester to London (EGCC/EGLL). Much better this time but the weather wasn’t so nice

Decided to do a quick turnaround, escape the weather and

head back to sunny Manchester…

Cheers, Neil.

Hello everyone,

Had a challenging approach, at least for me because it was my first approach with an offset in the final approach leg.

Approach chart included.

Yeah, when I took that shot I didn’t really think about it, but looking at it the clouds do look great, it’s amazing how good the sim can look.

I got a bit lost in Texas for a while, having a real hoot lookin at the landscape. Took a side mission in the Tiger Moth for some random loops and wingovers above beautiful Abilene TX.

Continuing Eastward in the Comanche, today I found the very first big weather of my entire journey, heading from Abilene TX east toward Shreveport. I didn’t make it all the way there since conditions began to deteriorate, so diverted to a small airport along the way.

Thanks to @mbraortns for further inspiration and some gorgeous screenshots of barns.

Agreed. I have decided to take my journey East then North to experience those fabled barns of Allentown Pennsylvania for myself. That’s probably the terminus of this impromptu continental journey. So. Much. Fun.
