What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

I haven’t checked the iniBuilds A320 NEO yet, so I decided to give it a go and flew it from Budapest Liszt Ferenc (LHBP) to München (EDDM):

The flight went okay, especially for a first one, but I just couldn’t have it work with my miniFCU, which is too bad, I really hope it will work eventually with this plane. Otherwise I had a bit of trouble disconnecting AP, as the button that is bound on my HOTAS was not working, and even when I clicked the disengage button on the sidestick ingame, the plane felt reeeeeeealy sluggish to respond. I don’t know of course if that is realistic, but was quite challenging to land this way.

Traded my simulator for a paddleboard for the week, but back at it again. Departed Springfield IL, spent the night in Champaign IL, and then headed on over to Indianapolis IN.

It’s good to be back!

Circling over Champaign to climb after departure.

On the 45 to Eagle Creek, with downtown Indianapolis visible in the background.

I didn’t take many screenshots since even taking a few days off your skills get rusty. Even virtual pilots have to keep current! Now it’s time to park the Comanche and take a closer look at Indianapolis. I think the Tiger Moth may have to come out to play.

Took me long enough to fly the Gettysburg area

Heading down the Chambersburg Pike…

Seminary Ridge

Culp’s Hill

Cemetery Hill

Visitors’ Center

Heading along Cemetery Ridge to the Round Tops

Little Round Top, fore, Big Round Top, rear

The Devil’s Den

Fields Pickett’s Division made the final attempt to destroy the Unites States Army.

The sim makes this so real. I should’ve set down in spots to get an idea of elevation in spots. Next time, Antietam?

I need to fly that beauty again, although I’m waiting on the WIP update that DC Designs started. It’s been a while but I trust it’s still coming.

Having bought the A300 months ago I finally took it for a first flight today. It was a great day out!

Adelaide YPAD to Singapore WSSS. I fly the A320 all of the time, and over a year ago I used to fly the A310 quite often, so it was a bit like getting a new pair of slippers. It felt weirdly familiar and comfortable but it took a little getting used to.

A few updates and an INS would be lovely

Stopover at Stoke Medway Airfield - I love this airfield with the power lines in the immediate vicinity.

After so much coastal flying I decided to get a bit of distance between France and myself today, so I decided to cross the Bay of Biscay from Vendays Montalivet (LFIV) to Bilbao (LEBB). Pretty relaxed flight, not much to see, but an interesting approach across several ridges and valleys!

Indianapolis for some late afternoon sightseeing in the Tiger Moth.

Just heading toward the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Victory Field in the foreground, Lucas Oil Stadium further back.

In Indianapolis, the photogrammetry is very sharp and covers a vast area. I’m considering taking another aerial tour in a different craft, focusing on the almost abnormally high amount of golf courses in the area. Yes, next I’m going to play some STOL golf.

Today I took out the C-46 for Everts Air Cargo. Took a delivery of snow machines and fuel from Anchorage to Seward.

Climbing to cruise altitude

Cruising south

Snaking through the pass nearing Seward

Overflying the field. Runways look good, slight crosswind from the right.

Safely on the ground and unloading. Not the prettiest landing but the plane is in one piece, that qualifies as a great landing.

Could have done this on Halloween no doubt more suited but I would no doubt forget by then.

Quick desaster relief flight to Union Island (TVSU) to provide support for the hurricane-struck locals.

The Trans, although with quite low fuel on board, handled it nicely (around 4 tons of stuff inbound, empty payload outbound).

Love it.

Today I took the Beech 18 with the Denarq Mod up for an aerobatic display over Old Warden. I’ve been a fan of Matt Younkin, who flies low level aerobatics with his Beech at airshows all over America, for a long time and always wanted to make an aerobatic video with the sim version =) The Denarq mod really transforms the Beech and turns it into one of the best twins in MSFS, it’s fantastic.
