Took the Archer Midnight to Eddystone Lighthouse - very tight fit. Thank goodness for TRC.
I’ve been working on my 2024 career. I’m liking the new version. It was not the excitement of the 14 years I waited since FSX, which I loved, but I was all in when 24 came out. It’s been pretty stable but yes lots of small bugs. The graphics are better even with what my 2070 super can handle. I’m actually quite impressed with the mountains over Canada. I have one more certification to get in my career. They really are too easy though but just the coin needed for the test. I mean how do you pass a test when your plane comes to rest with a wing tip buried in the dirt? Anyways I have my own company and grinding in my little 172 seems to make the most although as boring as it can be at times. It’s nice to have search and rescue missions. A mission i liked in FSX was landing on a glacier to grab a dude and sliding off a cliff on skis.
Yesterday, as an impoverished CPL with a newly minted IMC rating, looking to hour build, I took the Comanche from Leeds Bradford, down to St Nazier France, with 3x chrome lycoming cylinders urgently required. The job was not paid, but it was free aircraft hours.
Real time and real weather, it was a very bumpy, murky trip. However job completed without busting my VFR flight plan.
Unfortunately the young 20 something girl I took along to impress and “get to know better” got airsick on the way and spent the night in her hotel room throwing up, while I spent the evening nusing a couple of beers in the hotel bar, before retiring to my solitary room. Bummer.
Time logged 3hrs 33mins.
This afternoon it was time to return. The return legs were St Nazier to Reims, to pick up 100kg of aircraft parts, refuel at Reims and set off on the last leg to Leeds Bradford, where multiflight were waiting for their parts.
The flight was once again murky, very bumpy and much of it obviously about to be spent out of sight of the ground. I had to change the flight plan to IFR on route.
Tried going up over the top, 11500ft and that was that, no tops in sight. So sat in cloud until over the english channel, so I could let down safely again. It was getting dark and I had no torch to check the wings for ice. Could not stay upthere in the dark.
2000ft and still no ground or sea below. What there was, was heavy rain and cloud. Down to 1500ft. Heavy rain and cloud and much banging and oil canning of wing skins. Autopilot beeping in pritest constantly.
Back to 2000ft.
Girl sat with wide, terror filled eyes.
Finally came out of cloud and saw the ground again over Lincolnshire, flew back to Leeds Bradford for a very choppy approach and crabbing landing.
Aircraft parts to stores and girl home to mother. She says she will never get in another airplane as long as she lives…
Time logged. 4hrs 53 mins.
Finally got my CJ5

First flight of 2025, Condor - Airbus A321-211(WL) - D-AIAF from Cork (EICK) to Warsaw Chopin (EPWA)
Took the iFly 737 MAX8 from KSLC to KSJC - a rather scenic 95 minute flight that’s long enough to require active management of all phases of flight, but not so long that it takes too much time out of the day.
Pilots dash 7 to buffalo from Niagara testing it in fs2024
@CasualClick - I recently flew that plane myself. I figure you’re on PC as I was on Xbox, but when you pan the camera around to the front of the plane does the screen go black?
Yesterday I did the same turn on final testing your scenery, great job
I just learned that the ground effect could be bugged or just wrong and I was actually achieving a somewhat stable hover yesterday. I guess we’ll need to keep at least the collective assistance on.
One of my favorites… My first Dr Pepper machine…
Winding the clock back to 2017 today, operating the Bucket & Spade route Luton to Tenerife Sud today as Monarch ZB830 in the Fenix A321. Scenery at the UK end from Inibuilds, and the Canary’s end from MK Studios
