What Flight Planning Tool do people use?

Routfinder pulled this , flight in Africa

DRZA DCT IKTAR UA604 KAN UR778 KUA UV456 OXORU STAR DNAA

I think you are right, I just tested a bunch of US flights and they all have routes.

Do you know of a similar app that shows real flights + routes worldwide?

works for me

Are you using the latest navdata within simbrief? The data you get without updating it is a few cycles old from memory and may not be compatible

actually i think simbrief does. if you just put in a orig and dest it will show the most popular routes. i dont know exactly where they get that info for outside of the usa tho

yeah that’s it  navdata was out of date  derp

But it does not give me detailed information about airlines, flight number, etc like FlightAware, does it?

ahh… negative sorry i thought u just meant the route itself

Thanks anyway! If someone know an all-in-one app that does have worldwide flights, with detailed route (payware or not), please share.

i left all my paper charts behind in a move…

and then the fbi came to my new place to ask me about them. true story.

I use STKP and Simbrief with current airac cycles. I’ve used PFPX but as someone who plans flights for a career I find it not very intuitive in its design.

ForeFlight. Hoping MSFS2020 will offer complete integration, including AHRS.

Can someone take a moment to outline what some of these tools do well and don’t do well, and perhaps even comment on what a starting flight simmer needs for doing IFR and ILS flights in the A320 between international destinations?

Pull up a chair while I crack open a cold one and do tell…

ForeFlight on iPad is what I use when I normally fly IRL — has been a great companion for flight sim as well!

heheh. not really much…about 10 yrs ago was moving and decided to just leave the old apartment trashed. the cleanout crew got spooked by seeing ā€œairplane chartsā€ and management knew i wasnt a pilot so they called the cops, the cops called the fbi… they just wanted to make sure i wasnt planning another 9/11… had to explain, nope, just a flight sim nerd.

The only way to fly.

What a crazy world… great story though.

If you are looking for an all-in-one solution, take a look at SimToolkitPro.
https://simtoolkitpro.co.uk/
It integrates SimBrief flight plans, VATSIM live map and Navigraph FMS Data. Pretty amazing tool that I pretty much found by accident. And it is 100% free!
