What’s your “that’s it, I’m done with this plane” experience?

Gliders are boring to me an as for flying vintage/older aircraft, I have the Beaver and Spitfire for that as well as the Beech 18

Not sure I would call any of those “vintage” - not enough wings for starters,

Classic maybe. They are sort of the aviation equivalent of a '57 Chevy convertible .

Beavers were still in production up to 1967
The final Twin Beech rolled off the production line in 1969
The last Spitfire was built in 1948

Regardless ; i’m saying i have other better options than the jenny and the others i’ve listed and i’d rather they completely disappeared from my hangar so I don’t have to scroll past the ■■■■ to get to the aircraft i want to fly.
I’m also adding the default helicopters to my list too.

Maybe something like this …

I’m on xbox , no option for us yet

I quit using any aircraft that doesn’t have the QuickViews programmed properly.
This feature is broken on many Asobo planes too.

All of Deimos planes with the notable exception of the A-10.

For the Mig29, Su57 and G39, I flew them, they flew well but just can’t stand the unrealistic cockpit paired with really bad textures, MSFS looks too good to fly a plane that looks bad.

The A-10 is completely different so it is a bit unfair it is not getting any attention.

That is an easy one. The Nemeth Aerolite. Yes I know, it was stupid to buy it long time ago.
There was an update so I thought well OK lets have a look.
Lets just say I am glad the guy is smiling cause he is about to lose his legs according to these pics.
But my own fault for buying Nemeth.
So I have deleted it and That’s it, I’m done with this rubbish.

Don’t forget, folks can fly cheese-cake and a witch on a broom.
I guess if that’s allowed, then whatever… :upside_down_face:

Not touching any of Asobo’s default ultralights or turboprops. Used to fly TBM with the mod, yet seeing as the guys from WT improved the avionics (kudos to them, I am amazed by their work, seriously) but didn’t touch the flight model or especially the PT-6 simulation (the ITT values are ridiculous, for example) - stopped flying it for now. Helicopters and warbirds/modern fighters are not for my taste. Been mostly flying the PMDG 738, Fenix A320 (cannot wait for these IAEs), FBW Neo, Inibuilds A310, the amazing Beechcraft King Air, Baron and Bonanza analogues from JF/Blacksquare, trying the ATR here and there, rarely fly on 414AW, even more rarely on WBSim 172 and have been patiently waiting for a decent modern long-hauler. On that note, last weekend I have dabbled in a 7 hour flight on the 787-10 and a 5 hour flight on the 747-8, while participating in the AAU2 beta. Even managed to log a bug with the 747 fuel prediction in the FMS.

Hehehe, in that regard you should definitely try the Blériot, esecially the Anzani RIP Edition, which is the most realistically modeled and equates with what Blériot himself flew across the Channel. Not only does this lack brakes, it doesn’t even have a tailskid you can dig into the mud. Nope, it’s got 3 wheels. And ALL 3 castor without locks. While this allows you to hold a crab angle right down to the ground in a SLIGHT crosswind when landing, it makes it impossible to taxi at either end of the flight. So always start (or slew or pushback) to face approximately into the wind and just take off immediately after engine start.

Other cool things about this plane are that the cockpit has neither instruments nor a panel to mount them on, nor a floor, nor a seatbelt. The engine also lacks a firewall so there’s nothing between you and the total loss oil system except your goggles. You’ve got incredibly stiff and limited roll control because of manually operated wing warping vs ailerons, while OTOH the pitch control quite sensitive, and of course this was from before trim was invented. Meanwhile, the rudder is almost totally ineffective because it’s tiny and mostly masked by your own body plus the massive camber and incidence of the wing. Periodically, you must use a repurposed bicycle pump to maintain fuel flow. And there’s only like 15 knots between Vs and Vne and, as mentioned, no ASI for reference, so basically, if you’re flying at all, throttle back until you’re just barely still flying. Oh but wait, there’s not actually a throttle nor really a mixture control. You instead blip the ignition more or less often. And cut it off completely on final.

What’s not to love? If you can cross the Channel in this crate, you’re a real pilot :).

Chacun à goût. Gliders, I agree, seem boring because they’re slow most of the time while trading speed for altitude or for L/D, but the ones in MSFS can also get pretty fast and do aerobatics if you’re not trying for endurance or distance. But really, gliders are the sailboats of the skies. Sailboats require knowing what the wind is allowing you to do and exploiting that to get where you want to go, probably by a rather indirect route. Same with gliders, whereas motorboats and powered planes (other than the Blériot) just go where you want them to go. Thus, gliders require a willingness to negotiate and compromise with Mother Nature. Getting skillful at that is a worthy goal in and of itself and is also useful in all types of flying. There’s a lot of Zen involved. So it’s all good for your overall skillset. But I agree, it’s not for everybody.

Can’t say I was ever intimately familiar with them, but the A-4, Mig-15, and A-10 from MSCENERY are hangered in the cloud for good. I’m kind of embarrassed and ashamed to admit it took me three downloads to realize the mistake I was making. Thankfully someone else came out with an A-10 and it is fantastic!

Great description of the Bleriot! It would be on my shopping list except it’s not available for the xbox, at least not yet.

Adding another to my list:

The Norseman by Big Radials.
The plane is not “nice” to fly, the visibility is quite poor and the way the plane handles makes it very twitchy and not enjoyable.
Besides this the only nifty touch in the plane: the CRT is totally missused for some non-realistic configuration options. Just use a tablet for config and if you add something to the cockpit then use it for whatever it was used or it is used in the real plane.

I gotta admit…The Widgeon is a better product systems-wise compared to the Asobo or BR Goose, I’m just too spoiled with model quality as a casual flyer and am more focused on the visceral feeling (sounds etc) and visuals rather than the realism or systems depth aspect. The strength of MSFS is in its flexibility to either be a flying game or a decent simulator for realists.

If ever the Widgeon gets a texture refresh by FSW or by a modder on fs.to I would be more than happy to revisit it and even add it back to my FSE roster. For now? Eh.

I don’t have that Nemeth atrocity but I did buy the Yak18 and is, as you can imagine, hangared.
I really like the Yak-18 as a plane it is very interesting to hand-fly and not too complex in systems so I thought it couldn’t be very wrong.
Well it is very wrong and unsurprisingly it never got updated another to my list of blacklisted devs.

He’s like… Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!! LOLOL!!!

By the way: The Widgeon has recieved an update (25/5)! Does anyone know what was changed? Do we have a changelog?

THIS

I tried flying the renowed Salty 747 in IVAO, bad idea… I had to do a go around the ATC ordered me to do, turns out the plane (at least at that time) had all autopilot functions freeze after a go around, so I had to manually fly the whole procedure in the middle of a super busy airspace flying a 747 as if it was a Cessna…
I uninstalled the Salty mod and the 747 and have not touched it ever since.

Fully agreed. I can never buy another Aerosoft product again after that debacle.
