Likely, and quite plausibly no further patches until the first Sim Update.
There will be a holiday break at Asobo soon.

Can they not just print a list of what is supposed to be working or not. Marketplace, 2020 addons etc. More time being wasted chasing problems that may or may not exist. If something is purposely disabled thats fine just tell everybody and perhaps give a hint as to when it will be working. There is no diffinitive manual for the sim, everything is discovered by endlessly trawling through discussion forums or youtube just give us some information or direct us to an accurate source. Some of us just want to enjoy the sim.
Imagine taking money from families over Xmas for this incomplete mess. There has to be another hotfix this week
Hereâs a thread with info about hotfixes.
I hope you are wrong because there are still major crashes in the Sim
Yes with streaming, surely they can fix bugs almost dynamically
I totally agree they can fix a lot of things that way, and I think it is an advantage to their new streaming heavy platform. And I think they made it this way in part because it will be easier to patch and upgrade.
I am just saying, patching and releasing fixes for one bug at a time becomes inefficient and causes quality control issues. It quickly becomes the worst way to patch certain things. A lot of patching requires beta testing, just to make sure other stuff isnât negatively effected.
But it is definitely useful for compartmentalized things like addons, that only effect the whole sim while in use.
I suspect they may have fixed quite a few things already this way.
I do remember hearing a mention of a beta for the SU at some point.
Trouble is everyone has their own pet hotfix requirement, which may or may not be the most burning issue no matter how much they think it is.
Example: last night my burning issue was not being able to set squawk on the B38M (a bit of showstopper), but I realise that that may not be a universal burning priority for everyone.
Hmm it still feels a bit strange not to hear anything or did I just miss something.
Would be nice if MS would at least confirm there will be nothing comming before the xmas breake.
They wonât like leaving people in the lurch during holidays, so if there are show stoppers then Iâm sure they will be working on those and it wouldnât surprise me if something was going on server side either. However, with the sheer volume of negative reports and endless list of peopleâs pet bugs I suspect itâs more a case of trying to categorise & prioritize things. That is the challenge right now. Game stoppers or access issues will most likely be the most concerning in the lead up to the holidays though. Peopleâs pet bugs not so much. No way you release a big patch before heading off for a 2 week break. SU1 is probably already half way there and will hit beta in January (just a guess). Iâm also guessing that compatibility checks and marketplace work is keeping them very busy right now. The MP is after all their ongoing revenue stream source for the sim.
Communication breakdown yet again, tell us whether weâre getting a hot fix for breaking issues this week or not.
Right now, my game within a game is, âWhat can I most enjoy with the sim in its current state, and my hardware?â
And right now, my yoke, quadrant, and pedals work great for 1 and 2 engine prop planes, turboprop and piston. VFR and light IFR. So much of the career mode is open to me. I mean, all the early company jobs are best is Cessnas anyway.
I fly around, look at the world, play with the graphics settings, test for bugs, look for workarounds, and make money flying from A to B.
Now, if I tried to do this all in VR it would be a nightmare. So I avoid VR for now when I want to have fun.
So far I have found a niche of enjoyment within the huge sim. Mostly Career Mode and GA VFR flying.
Mostly in ye olde vanilla 172.
It feels good to be back in a vanilla sim doing simple things in stock planes again. And 2024 has come a long way from when 2020 is new.
My pet bugs right now are texture resolution and LOD distances.
Different subset or aircraft for me but same approach. Find out what works in FS2024 and go enjoy it as is for now. If it doesnât work and itâs that critical for you then stick with FS2020 for now. Itâs really that simple. I do appreciate and sympathise with the difficulties some are still having accessing the sim right now though.
It is a huge sim. As long as you can find something without having to fit a square peg into a round hole, it is rather amazing. When it works it is oft incredible.
Seeing things like light snow on fields, or complex geometry of familiar mountains is so rewarding when you arenât fighting the darn sim the whole time.
I might be ready to set up for 2 engine jets on my quadrant. Hearing good things about the Fenix.
Still havenât taken the helicopter plunge. So much setup work.
Whatâs your flight envelope these days?
My go to combination (just using sim as a base) is -
Fenix, GSX, Simbrief, BATC (for injecting AI traffic & ATC)
This combination basically bypasses most gripes I have with default sim.
I also find the Ini airliners all fine (apart from the double chock bug. and the A400M is just fantastic. Also using the most of the helis when i can too, I prefer the Cabri and the R66. I do most VFR sightseeing in helis. I donât do much GA type stuff except when using training section. Not really progressed much in career. Seems too time consuming.
Looks like Iâve got a 3 - 4 month wait before Iâm even remotely able to play in vr
While I mostly agree, there is a major bug affecting performance at many/most airports introduced with the latest patch, which is already fixed on the dev branch. It would be very annoying if they hold that fix back for another month or so.
Server side issue or does something need rolled out? I can see something like that being rolled out, I guess well know this week, I doubt they push anything out next week. Updates are usually Tuesdays too.
Why is that? I really enjoy VR with the Fenix. The workaround with the bar works quite reliable. Performance wise it´s on par with MSFS2020 for me.
