When is FS24 patch #4 scheduled for?

Maybe this year will be different…

But Asobo tends to go dark this time of the year.

I really didn’t expect to upset you so much by recalling how it worked the last four years. Sorry about that. Would you prefer it if I lied?

Afraid to use my passenger 737 max in career.
When you get in it, there’s a good chance it crashes immediately saying you left without completing ground tasks. Millions in damage each time.

Being able to fly the 737 will be my final certification, at least until the missing fixed-wing and helo certifications are introduced, and although I have the cash to complete it, I think I might be delaying for just a while longer.

No matter how disappointed we all are about the status and the non action of its developers and publisher it is just a GAME. So keep it calm and never buy early access games which are claimed to be ready in the future.

Happy Xmas

Here we are, a month in and I don’t actually have an aircraft to fly in the sim that isn’t bugged to one degree or another.
I’ve read all the unconvincing excuses provided by various posters in this thread for the lack of action but the fact of the matter is the absence of communication or acknowledgement of the huge range of faults in this product points to an enormous degree of complacency on the part of Jorge and Asobo.
Where are they?

Any patch now would just be a rush job anyway in time for the holidays. I presume they are not on holiday yet though, so perhaps something could come before the weeks out?

I don’t think holidays have started for most people yet, definitely not me, lol who has to work up to Christmas Eve, and then just the 1 day off this year! I do get weekends off though.

Most schools for example break up from Friday in the UK at least.

Hopefully today’s developer stream will include the frank acknowledgement of the state of the game and a roadmap for bringing it to production grade.

It all depends on the job, the company, and the individual. I work a typical office job in the UK (software engineering) and in my company, Tuesday 24th is indeed a normal working day, because it’s not a bank holiday. Unlike many countries in Europe, UK celebrations mostly focus on Christmas Day itself, along with Boxing Day on the 26th (a holiday most countries have never heard of); whereas elsewhere in Europe it’s common for Christmas Eve to be the day when gifts are given and the big family Christmas meal is had, and it may therefore be a public holiday or half-day.

At any rate, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of my colleagues or people based in the UK who are working on the 24th this year, or even on the 23rd. Most people have booked both days off as annual leave along with the 27th, and a good many of them have booked the whole of the next week off (other than the 1st, which is also a bank holiday), so they don’t return to work until Monday 6th January. I usually take 3 weeks off over Christmas, so would already be on leave this whole week; but this year I chose not to.

All of this is possible because we have a normal number of paid vacation days (ie 20+, 25 in my case, plus 8 bank holidays). It’s the USA that is the outlier here. Some people use their days earlier in the year and work the non-bank holiday days at Christmas and New Year, but in my experience most people save enough days to cover the whole thing.

In most cases, France has better worker benefits than the UK does, so I’d be surprised if many or most of the Asobo developers aren’t already on holiday. Unless a patch has been QA’d and staged for release this week, which is unlikely given there would probably be no-one to support the launch, then we’re not getting anything this side of the second week of January, and in all probability it’ll be a while after that. My money, FWIW, is on late Feb / early March.

Here in France, the Christmas holidays start this Friday for 15 days. Let’s not expect a correction before the 3rd week of January.

Here we have the 24th and 31st of December as vacation days, mandatory.
Then our department(software dev) and some others take the last week of the year off because there’s not much work to do, but we would never do it if we had some software on our clients like the state of MSFS2024.
This notion that people can accept this without saying anything it’s what’s ruining this industry. People also are to blame because they have really low standards these days and allow this to happen.
Since it seems they’ll not patch this before Christmas, I can only wish you all a great Christmas flying MSFS2020.

It is not about when what holidays are.

I tis complete unacceptable to break the sim and leave us completely alone without any information.
(no, the “bug logged” icon does not count)

They have to inform wether if we get a fix before or after end of 2024!

I have 2020 and I’ve gone back to that now. I’m thoroughly disappointed in Asobo for leaving the new sim in this state over Christmas though, no amount of their free planes are gonna make up for that. They’ve taken our money and left for the holidays🤦‍♂️

the career mode with the cessna 172 the scenarios are stable but there is no real weather if you fly in career mode the 737 max which is the only one you can fly as an airline pilot the passengers do not get on the plane if you do not look at them it is unstable the flashes terrain the answers fail the copilot is an immovable set that only says once you have exceeded 10ft errors and penalties you should update it and in the next update let it download entire maps because a botched job like this is only valid for flying small planes

No it’s not just a game, it’s about 70€ and much more for others.

I have worked at multi national organisations and no big campaigns launch or projects go live between:
-June and August
-Mid November to late January

Staff take annual leve, left right and centre.

Some will take time off from this week if their children attend private school that finish early. Others will clock out this week in order to catch cheaper flights or host family members who have arrived early.

There is no way that Asobo and Xbox will crunch over Christmas to fix FS2024.

I can now see that the game is avaiable for £40 on third party retailer website which is a drop from £70 on launch day. By the time path 4 and 5 have launched in Feb, I might be able to buy the game for 1/3 of full retail price.

What do you think. The suits have been pressing the developers for this premature release. And now we are expecting even more late hours, holiday work, from them?
To my view some people in the community are just asking too much. The developers have been pushed long enough, not? Give them a break, please.
It was released 6mths too early, with no beta testing.
Did developers have any say in this other than: I would not release it right now, and the suits say: but we’ll release it nonetheless.
So we are actually beta testing the sim on a large scale. And there is not a single developer who can do a thing about that.
So here we are, with the sim as it is. I would suggest to come back in the summer and see the situation by then.

How can I be asking too much from people who took my money but are leaving me with a product in this state. The sim was playable before patch 3 and the lack of QA meant it broke but now we have no communication from them on when these issues will be fixed. So frankly, I do not care who these ‘suits’ are and what they did. I’m asking the only people I can ask to push out a patch to fix what they caused before leaving us for 4 weeks with something that I can’t use at all. That’s not asking too much, that’s asking too little imo, I want one simple thing, for the product I payed a lot of money for to work, which it was 2 weeks ago… they pushed the patch knowing of these issues and didn’t care, and now I’m saying the same thing.

The will only acknowledge the great reviews, like 9/10 from IGN. It’s GOTY 2024 material!

You are talking about ‘they’ and ‘people’, who should fix the stuff you run into.
The only people who can fix stuff is the developers.
And they have been pushed too hard.
By the suits.
Now the devs are out for a well earned holiday. Because they worked their behinds off.
And you ask them to stay and miss X-mas.

So your point seems to be: no matter how hard the suits push, the devs should ALWAYS fix up what they could not release with enough quality because of the time constraints. Set by the suits.

See what happened to Boeing? I rest my case…
