It seems like what you’re doing might not be correct, because it’s working perfectly fine for me.
Wow! I finally found the settings gear icon on that “My Library” screen. It is not presented well or very prominently. The “My Library” settings should have just been in the main settings menu.
In the folder selection you must not select the community folder, but the parent folder.
create D:/Jerem/fs2004/community
put all your addons in there and then select the D:/Jeremy/fs2004 folder in the dialog and press confirm
Moved the community folder to my D. Drive no problem and when I click the community folder button on the library page I see whatever content I’ve put in there however none of what I tried so far is being loaded. Restarted twice(you all know how long that takes)) but the aircraft are not available for selection and nothing appears in Library results when filtered on community with the left tick box. Try again tomorrow.
I don’t see my community content in the My Library area. I can find my aircraft when I configure a flight however.
Thx. I’ll check again tomorrow with some different add ons. I would think they should show in thd library otherwise what’s that filter for. Likely just one of the many launch bugs.
It seems incredible to me that we have to modify a registry file or have to look for a half-hidden icon to create or change a folder. Something that before (in MSFS20) was done automatically, just by choosing a disk path during the simulator installation. It seems that we are going backwards.
BUT mirosoft itself tel us that th community folder exist AND that we can add in IT the mod and add on we have purchassed in MSFS 2020 so ???
same here. I have moved over some orbx scenery and an aircraft and none of it is appearing in my library
I tried moving the GotFriends F4F Wildcat into my Community folder this morning, since per their compatibility list it should work fine in 2024. Unfortunately, it does not show. I tried putting a copy in the original, convoluted folder location set by default, and again in a custom Community folder location I set using the Library gear-icon Settings. It didn’t show up as available in either location. I’ll experiment more this afternoon.
ok, but how do you open this “etting storage” windows? please
Working perfectly fine for me as well. I have moved a few sceneries into the MSFS 2024 community folder and they all work…no issues.
I purposely keep all my flight sim files on separate drives (one for 2020, another for 2024, so it defeats the object if the community folder which will inevitably grow significantly is on my C drive. Surely there’s a simple way to sort this.
I don’t know what just happened.. I typed it out and it I think my mouse accidentally clicked delete while trying to edit.
Here’s the easy way -
- Go to Marketplace
- Click on “My Library” tab at the top
- Next to the search bar, there’s a gear - click this
- Set the folder to what you want the overall MSFS parent folder to be.
- Upon restart, this location will now have a new file-tree with Official package and Community folder.
After install I had to modify userconfig file to redirect it to put community folder on my chosen drive.See Overkill Simulations video on YT to do this.
Choosing the drive in xbox app didnt put community folders there - it still put them on C drive.
Absolute rubbish. Community is on C: . I have used it successfully.
I did the CFG route already and when I found that menu screen, it does show my new location so did not need to mess with it. the cfg route method worked and built the community folder and stuff in my custom FS folder and drive
I’m on Steam. Changing the community location worked best for me using the settings change UI from the “My Library” screen. This overwrote the config file I had manually changed previously.
