Who owns MScenery or other poor developers, bad reviews everywhere?

I mean it would be great to have that for sure but there are so many and some poor soul would have to spend their money on MScenery products to start a thread. Then you have the other issue, that is a brilliant developer produces and ace version of that plane it would get pulled into MScenery threads and confuse folk.

I am hoping with this thread MS see fit to ban them from this SIM. All the above reasons are valid enough - MS must just do their homework and protect themselves.

What do you mean, it would be good to extrapolate your reason please?

I understand what you are saying. But I also think that the mp works like a real market. Every vendor can rent a stall, but if the vegetables are inedible, customers will avoid the place.

Please read carefully, a ‘poor simmer’ does not have to buy a plane. (S)he only has to rent it for a month and start a thread. It’s like posting a tweet or whatever about bad vegetables. Not?

O, just filter the mp activities for this vendor and you’ll know what I mean. Night lighting packs is another example. Apparently your complaint is mostly about planes. Mine is also about this activities vendor.

Personally I would prefer to get away from offering an excuse to offer bad products. This is just blowing wind up
so no quality control needs to happen. It is irresponsible - in a fruit market you can see the product you are buying and if it is rotten you see that. It is not the same principle in an online market.

I am not excluding scenery or any other product offered, I just have not bought any until after SU3.

How on earth do you think that would work? Again, it’s their income! Think about it. How long did we have to wait for PMDG’s 737? Years. And it costs 70 bucks.

Now compare this to a 10 - 15 bucks plane of which there are 50 made in the same time. What do you think will yield more revenue for MS? It’s that simple.

I don’t agree with the ’poor souls’ argument. Everybody has their own responsibility to inform themselves before they buy anything? Don’t we all read reviews of tv’s, laptops, games, etc before we buy?

If we would take the trouble to start a thread per plane, it would be exactly the same.

It works for other games apparently and I do not see any adverts on here to buy TV’s in the Markeplace. You can’t always equate what happens in a real online market with what happens here. Every online vendor gives their contact details, they are legal entities unlike MScenery. Anyhow, im off to work now

Please feel free to start them. I am sure many folk will like to post on them.

I never buy a plane that I later regret .
And I agree 100% with the contact details argument. That should be mandatory for every vendor in the mp.

Have a great day!

I also strongly agree that the MS Marketplace needs more tools like integrated support options and also the possibility to write reviews. A rating system is a start but it would be much better to be able to read why users have given certain ratings.

The integrated support option would make it much easier for developers to verify that you actually bought the product. As we have no real invoices for our Marketplace purchases (at least not ones where you can identify the actual product that has been purchased), it‘s difficult to prove that you own a product to a developer.

Also, there should be a change log for every product when it gets updated.

It‘s a bit weird that it takes Microsoft quite a long time to push updates and new products while apparently, there is no real quality control (apart from maybe some technical aspects). Either you dump the ingestion process and allow every lousy product onto the Marketplace without delay or then, please try to make sure that the products reach a certain standard of quality.

I was a scenery developer in MSFS years ago. It started as a hobby creating photorealistic scenery of the area I lived in and then other simmers convinced me it was a viable commercial product. Even though I relied on other marketing companies to list my product and sell it, I immediately took on the responsibility of creating a product website and support system. If a company does not have that same level of ethics and professionalism, don’t do business with them. It’s that simple.

With a set of standards for all to adhere to AND strict adherence to the SDK.

I’m confused by this, probably because I’m fairly ignorant of how models are created.
Several of my favorite aircraft devs use custom variables that only work in a particular plane they’ve created.

Or are you referring to something else?

If you have a read of Mathijs Kok’s comments above you will better understand through his explanations. He had about 3 posts, if i recall

SDK has little to do with it, if all devs only used the SDK and guidelines then there would be no need for WASM or any other bespoke coding.
Everything with fly by wire would be based on either an Airbus or the F18 Hornet.
Many many high quality/fidelity developers do not strictly adhear to thr SDK and its guidelines for use

Exactly what this wise person says
When you buy from the MSFS Marketplace you are buying from Microsoft, not the 3rd Party Developer; There’s always a “Terms of Sale” link on the “Buy” window for your country!

Adhering to the SDK does not mean you can’t replace default system with your own coded versions. In fact, that is why the SDK is there. I believe you do not fully grasp how the SDK supports developers.

What I meant with my comment is that not following the SDK guidelines means your product can not use the full platform options. For example, there is a huge difference in graphical performance if you follow the SDK regarding LODs compared to if you decide, for whatever reason, not to do so. It’s surprising there are still products that use ‘high resolution’ textures and not using the far superior newer options (like decals) that are far easier on your system. It is that kind of information that customers should be given when choosing a product.
