Why are refunds for FS2024 being refused?

I am about to go to Amex and just charge this back. It’s been almost 6 months since release, this is not even half the product that FS2020 was, and the pending update doesn’t fix anything preventing me from using my $200 purchase.

This is completely unacceptable and I’ve just killed GamePass over it.

Just an update, I used my XBOX credits to buy this lemon, and they are not doing refunds after 3 attempts to get my money back.
It says I logged 36 hours. Agreed - 36 hours fighting, learning the new controls, crashing, learning more, trying to take out 1. just 1 plane only for it to crash on a 4090, Its just mind blowing. Still lost for words. What a great way to do business when you hype up a sale only to stick it to your customers with no hope at the end since you have it all under control. It’s pathetic and desperate. Enjoy my money you will not see any more of it.

Another Asobo game with 40000k bugs at least yes..

No idea if you did already but a bit of advice, if you dont have anything else on your account you could do that ofcourse. But… there is a very high change your account will get banned and about 0.1% change you can get it back afterwards.

advice taken; you cannot be banned like that for that reason. That is a scare tactic one that is not completely correct.

Chargeback on Credit Cards is seen as fraud. If you want to mess around with your account go ahead.

Banned can mean, no purchase option anymore or ban your account depending on severity.

You reacted to my advice I wrote to somebody that doing a chargeback is a risky thing to do with MS (and many other companies btw.), with that “it’s just a scare tactic” but you dont know the meaning of a chargeback? :face_with_spiral_eyes:

You absolutely can. Generally you are locked out of your account if you do that.

Not sure why anyone is getting offended or upset over what that means. Facts are facts.

Some years ago there was a guy at least claiming that he did a 6 month chargeback to an online video game. Paypal supported up to that at the time. He’d spent a couple thousands dollars. They just deleted his account. He didn’t care, because he was angry and done, hence the chargeback. But unless you’re 100% done with that company, it’s a pretty bad idea.

Agreed. Companies can and do ban for chargebacks. Regardless of whether or not someone agrees with the ban or whether or not the chargeback is legitimate, companies ban people all the time. It’s the same principle as walking into a brick and mortar store: a merchant is not obligated to do business with you and can turn you away for many reasons.

I’ve heard of many online stores, both big and small, banning for chargebacks.

I am mean, where exactly? You said you can’t be banned, which you can. And that is where I replied on. Giving such advice to people can risk their account being flagged for fraud.

You are 100% correct. Chargebacks under these circumstances are a very bad idea. Some companies see it as a debt you now owe and MAY restore your account if you pay that debt. Some companies will write you off permanently as a bad customer.
