Since 2 days there is a official solution for this WMR related performance problem:
Already have KB5020044 installed, performance in VR is still sucks. Instead of running in Ultra for VR, High is about it and I still get stutters. Not good!
Do you have a WMR based headset such as HP G2? This patch only helps with them. Sinc this patch (together with Nvidia GameReady Driver from 1th Dez.) my VR performance is butter smooth (with ultra preset). Of course there are still ■■■■■■ 3rd party add-ons that cause stutters, but that’s not MS or Asobos fault.
Yes to WMR and HP G2. I went ahead and deleted my Nvidia driver from Oct and reinstalled the latest one, 527.37, things are much smoother and a couple of days ago, it seemed there was an MSFS2020 update that happened real quick, and am back to good performance again. Sometimes I hate computers!
And now all seems ok again. I still have sometimes bad performance when switching to VR, toggling the settings a few times back and forth between (for example) DLSS and TAA mode seem to fix it. I have no explanation why but it works every time.
Still some stutter’s and black screen flashes, especially in high density cities. And lately a few CTD’s out of nowhere, while in cruise or on approach. I’m hesitant to waste time settling up a flight plan and flying, only to be disappointed that it’ll stutter and ctd. Or when turning off autopilot on final at 1,000ft into KSAN, the Milviz 310 would do a forced hard over and spiral into the sea. So many bugs still throughout MSFS.
