After having installed the newest windows 11 updates KB5018496 and KB5018341 today I still have the 22H2 stutter problem caused by the holographic shell.

Neither of those KBs mention that this issue resolution is included.

Yeah. It’s not. The problem persists in the most recent update.

Before you launch FS2020 with VR running and ready, go into Computer Management (see screen shot as to where to go), and Stop ‘Holographic Shell’ (not shown in the screen shot). You’ll be good to go with no stutters. If you already have FS2020 running in VR, check again for HolographicShell

Just adding, the above trick, removing HolographicShell, only work for WMR headset users, like G1, G2, Odyssey, etc. and should be now fixed with a new WMR software package AFAIK.

Was the WMR patch pushed to insider beta, or only insider dev so far? If it’s only in dev a lot of us have not received it.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to report this work-around. I just tried this and had great results. My “potato” system struggles in vr, but I can say that it is still capable of smooth and enjoyable flight in the virtual cockpit as I have experienced it many times. Kinda curious why I have such smoothness one day, and the next is so “studdery”. Thanks again for the help.

This was driving me crazy. I have a 3070 and Reverb G2.

Tried everything, but the only thing that worked was switching to DX12 in MSFS settings. Now it works quite well.

I’ve had many issues with the game stuttering, head movements being really jerky, etc for the past year using Windows 11. The other day I finally wiped my PC and started over using Windows 10, I also ensured there were no overlays at all enabled (Discord, GeForce Experience, Xbox Game bar). The result is so much smoother and I can actually play in VR with decent settings.

Getting 3-5 fps the last two days. Stopped flying altogether. 3080 12GB and Reverb G2. If I go to external view, frames go up to about 15-16, but drop back down to 3 when I sit back down in the cockpit. Haven’t made any other changes, so have no idea what is causing this!

Me too, fps is ok but I see objects “double” and stutter when panning in VR.

Also having stuttering issue on screen and it’s even worse in VR since the last update. It was so bad, I uninstalled MS2020 and reinstalled it, still horrible in VR. Things were butter smooth with most settings on Ultra prior to the last update. Frustrated!

Add me to this list. Since the latest update I have been having consistent stuttering problems but only on approach to airports–any airport. Smooth as butter everywhere else.

All good for me. Reverb G2 DX11 butter smooth. Win 11

Same hardware, gtx3080ti too
