Does anybody know or have any info if Asobo will be removing or giving us an option to remove the flight log that pops up every time after engine shutdown?
Also will they be removing the loading circle that keeps showing up on the bottom right corner of the screen while in flight?
I find these two things very annoying and just kills my immersion of the sim. It’s a small matter but very annoying and I just can’t believe Asobo has not solved this yet by now. I am not dev expert but i would assume this would not be so difficult for them to remove and can probably be done in a matter of a few minutes or hours at most.
Anyways, would be nice to know this will be fixed as many people have given these complaints.
The Logbook pop up has no place in a flight sim, they added it without even putting in an option to turn it off which is shocking. I doubt this will be removed on Sim update 5 as it doesn’t say it in the feedback snapshot. For the circle, I have no idea if that will ever get removed.
Oh I certainly hope they remove the logbook. It is so annoying.
As for the circle… I have actually no idea what you mean. Can’t say I’ve ever seen it.. not during a flight anyway. Is it to do with your internet speed?
More likely due to CPU speed (and it’s interaction with loading memory). And it has to go. It’s like the little blue circle when you’re computer is thinking, but it’s XBox style in the bottom right, and it HAS to go! It serves ZERO purpose for users.
I’m the nitwit in procedures here, but maybe this is according to design ? You finish your flight. When you land a passenger aircraft, would it be realistic to switch off the engine and 2 minutes later switch it on again and take off ? I suppose your passengers would prefer otherwise.. Did you try e.g. ask for fuel.. or refuel via menu.. what happens then ?
If you want the logbook to appear everytime then that’s fine, but many (probably most) of us don’t want it popping up each time .. accompanied by music. There should be an option to disable it.

You are so right, most of us don’t want that logbook popping up and disturbing the engine shutdown procedure along with ridiculous music. An example, you’ve just had an amazing flight, realistic engine sounds ect, you park up shut down your engines, and everything pauses and some music starts playing and then it gives you options to quit, what’s the point? You quit when you want by pressing esc. Does that happen IRL? No, you shutdown the engines and real life doesn’t pause, it’s actually quite funny.
No offense, I believe you it’s a nuisance.. I also like to fly without procedures.. but in a simulator our preference is not always relevant. Reality simulation is the primary goal. When your log book appears, you’re supposed to inspect (and in RL add things when needed) then you have lunch.. or you go prepare a new flight plan, refuel. Load the new flight. You never proceed another take off..

I don’t think it popped up originally or else there was a time when it didn’t automatically pop up, if I remember correctly.
There are so many posts on this & other forums from people asking for it to be optional. I tend to fly small, GA aircraft myself and the logbook pops up before the engines have even shut down. It sort of ruins the immersion, especially when I’m in VR.
The issue is, you’re in the middle of shutting down and want to climb out, and you can’t finish your procedure. It wouldn’t be so bad if it popped up when you hit escape to end your time in the game. Sometimes I’m just stopping at an airport, want to fill up, take a rest break, and want to keep going.
The change they made a couple updates back was it starts a new flight after it pops up. That’s not what I want either. Although, I suppose it actually is more correct. I suppose I should do my real logbook like that. I’ve always done it per time I climb in my airplane, not stop to stop.
And then, to top it off, it’s totally wrong. I only ever get 1 takeoff per flight, and it misses my touch and goes.
Yes, this is realistic. I do this often. Fuel is expensive at one of the airports I fly out of. I can save $2/gallon by flying 10 minutes away. And, as another example, if I had a wife, I’m sure sometimes she’d want to stop along the way and…
If the flight log popping up when engines shut down is the biggest issue floating your boat, you haven’t enough hours in the game. Start flying more. LOL BTW, you can go back into the simulator without exiting the game. That is one of the options in the popup.
It is ABSOLUTELY not the biggest issue I have. It’s an issue. Just because it’s a minor annoyance doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be brought up. And we’re here to discuss stuff, and I support the OP in his request on both items.
That circle ruins screenshots for me all the time. Which costs me 15 minutes of editing time to remove it. And it serves no purpose. Nobody cares if the computer is thinking. You can’t even tell as you’re flying, I don’t get stutters, I don’t get slowness, it’s just popping up for no reason as far as I’m concerned.
And as I noted above… I want to finish my shutdown. I’m here to practice flying like I do. With the logbook, I can’t finish my checklist. It’s annoying as heck. And Asobo has acknowledged it (they’re pilots, too), and they are going to fix it.
I’m sorry, we have zero idea why you’ve never noticed it.
I only notice it mostly because it shows up in screenshots. I have a 55" in monitor, and it’s not really in my scan while flying. I have consistent 350 to 450 MB/sec internet, downloading updates is a matter of 10 minutes for me max for instance, usually much less, so, no, I don’t believe it’s related to internet speed.
YES, this is one of the biggest issues floating in many people’s boats. It bothers enough people as it is very high up on the wishlist. I get it that some people like it, but for the majority it is a nuisance. It seems this feature only benefits a minority. Probably a lot of people don’t care but definitely not a lot of people like this.
I would bet you $100 dollars if Asobo took a vote of optimization, world updates, or the flight log popping up after you shut down engines, the flight log popup issue would get less than 20 votes. HAHA
