Working Title G1000 NXi Discussion Thread

Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t find a way to delete a “direct-to” flight plan. In my recent scenario I flew a regular flight plan between two airports. When I landed at the destination, I used the menu key and was able to delete the flight plan. I took off with no flight plan and, once airborne, did a direct-to to head toward a 3rd airport. I decided later to change my mind, but couldn’t find a way to get the direct-to flight plan cleared. The magenta line and the destination remained, even after using the menu option to delete the current flight plan. I suspect I am trying to delete the direct-to flight plan incorrectly, but I have no real-world G1000 experience. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Has any else experienced a MSFS crash when closing FPL planel on the G1000 NXI ? It happens regularly for me, every flight pretty much, when I am flying the C208 with a RNAV flight plan, just by opening the flight plan in the G1000 NXi, then using cursor to page through the waypoints, then when I close the FPL MSFS crashed hard.

Anyone else seeing that? Anyone have a suggestion or a solution?

I had a similar situation when I was trying to change the altitude in the FPL and got a CTD.

Did you guys report these CTDs on the Discord so they can be fixed?

Hello all,

Tried out the keyboard function to input origin, destination, waypoints. (using latest version, 0.10.1 I believe)

Strangely enough, after finishing the text entry (either by clicking outside the text field or by clicking on the small keyboard symbol), I loose the possibility to interact with the cockpit using the mouse (i. e. no buttons switches, levers respond) but I still can use the G1000… This has happened with the Caravan (stock and mod), Bonanza mod.

Anybody noticed this too?

Thanks in advance!

quick q: is there a way to display local time on the pfd instead of zulu, or with zulu?

If any of the letters in the input contains a “P” it will activate the sim pause. So just reset the sim pause and all will be fine.

Hoping WT will turn the Time Offset option on in the G1000NXi

Will have to try this later. Thanks, would never had thought of that.

So the keystrokes get passed on to the sim, other effects may be expected (gear etc)?

Thanks again for the tip!

It only happens with the Pause.

Is it going to be possible to set 7000 as the default transponder code when pressing the VFR button on the PFD?

I hope not since VFR is 1200.

I believe that’s only the case in US, possibly Canada. The ICAO standard is 7000 according to List of transponder codes - Wikipedia

And if you set your Departure point in a European field, the aircraft’s transponder is automatically set to 7000. So there is a measure of spatial awareness going on, it’s just the majority of the functionality is oriented towards FAA / CONUS.

Like a bunch of stuff - Only in 'murica.

There is a big world out there and the USA has less
than 5% of the World’s population.

So what you’re saying is that neither 7000 nor 1200 should be set by default, right?

Because that would be unfairly biased to someone.

I’m sure that’s what you mean

No I am not saying that.

Just the ability to choose which setting to use for that button. Rather like we can already choose metric or imperial units of measurement, and Hectopascals or Inches of mercury for barometric pressure settings. It’s not complicated.

That would be acceptable.

Of course it would be. That’s why I posed the question

Well, your original question could be interpreted as asking the developer to have 7000 be the default. That’s why I responded as I did. If you wanted to say you wanted a configurable default value, you need to be more clear. But I’m glad we agree.
