You can’t be serious! What the heck are we testing then?
Why was the pre-release candidate not offered to the beta testers so they can actually go out and test?

Everything except the NXi. There is more to the sim than a single GPS implementation.
This all depends on your motivation for being involved in the beta. Does one want to conduct testing, confirming that Asobo’s fixes have worked, identify problems then report them etc. Or does one just want to buzz around with the new code?
I just hope that the majority of the 5000 are not vanity installs.
I notice that at KAVL the ILS brings me down to the right of the runway for RW35, but the RNAV is perfect. Is this a G1000 NXi issue or a simulator in general issue?
How many default aircraft use the NXI?
Good question.
The 172, C208, G36, a messed around version appears to be in the TBM according to a post by a 3PD earlier today, or at least their plane breaks some aspect of the TBM. I’m not sure about any others.
From https://www.workingtitle.aero/packages/nxi/
Because they use the Garmin G1000 unit, this package will affect the following default aircraft:
One can just uninstall the NXi package and test with the default sim G1000 which is pretty much on par with the WT G1000 mod.
Is it possible to see the total trip time in the NXi?
thanks for the info. I wish they had mentioned that in the SU6 beta “known bugs” section, would have saved me a lot of time/frustration
I have searched and haven’t found an answer to “Will there be a FPM/VV marker added to the NXi?”
With regards to my earlier post, several days ago, on RNAV approaches. When the “ghost” diamond is centered and changes to solid pink, I activate APR mode & the NXI captures the GS and “Bob’s your uncle”, it flys down the path like butter. It’s worth noting that activating APR mode can be done prior to the FaF. If I activate APR right at the FaF, the auto pilot rarely captures the GS without my intervention (read VS mode or manual flying). It is dependent on where the pink diamond is.
Funny, some RNAV approaches I flew using the G530 & WT530 work much better with the NXI. The aircraft was always a bit low using the 530’s but the NXI is just right.
You guys might know this stuff already but if you don’t, give it a try.
I believe the answer on WT’s Discord Server is “Soon. ™”
We can only hope.
NAV Mode not working in latest version of G1000 NXI and latest version of MSFS!! The screens are blank in the G1000 from github!! I had to go back to the stock version to be able to use NAV Mode. I did not have more than one version of the G1000 installed but I do have the pms50 GTN 750 installed which does not seem to interfere with the stock G1000 in any way.
When you hit NAV, does ‘GPS’ come up in white in the annunciator panel? If so, this means GPS is armed but not yet active. You need to fly to near the magenta line (45deg towards works) then GPS will activate for you.
As for the G1000 via GitHub? I’m not sure about this, is it being maintained?
I will check that out next. Thanks for the suggestion.
It turns out that the problem with the G1000 NXI was operator error. I was entering GPS waypoints and VOR frequencies using the GTN750 toolbar which works with the stock G1000 but clearly not with the NXI.
I don’t believe the NXi syncs with any other GPS.
Is it possible to set the time to local time in the PDF and not a permanent UTC?
You can change the time in the weather panel, which will also change it on the GPS, if that is any help?
The biggest “problem” I’m having with the NXi is that I am getting very spoiled. Flying a non-WT aircraft without the NXi is as satisfying. IMHO this is the best MSFS add-on… and it is still beta! The only add-on that will top the NXi - if it is ever made - is the Garmin G3000 with Autoland for the TBM 940. Of course, the TBM 940 would need to be crated for MSFS.
Thank you so much.
