The Pena Palace (Portugal) was a tricky one. It took a full zoom out to get close enough to the gate to just glimpse the horizon through it while still capturing the entire Palace.
The first one in the grand canyon, defaults to a Cub but I can’t find anywhere to land on the South Rim like it suggests. Is everybody just supposed to know they’ll need to switch to a helicopter or is there another way?
Could get the sun over the shoulder of the Sphinx but tried a bunch of different dates around Sept. 22 and March 20 but couldn’t get the equinox sunset to check.
The sun is kind of in the Sphinx’s neck.
It didn’t recognise the Equinox sunset the first time, then it did.
Got back to the helicopter to check the time:
17:28/15:28 UTC Sept 22.
(so the photo was c. 17.26/15.26 UTC)
Good topic !!
I have 9 collections complete and I am working through the 10th but I am a little stuck. I am hoping to get a little help here because there is not much to find about these pictures on the internet.
There is a picture in the Landscapes of Europe , the Fjord of the Preikestolen that gives me a lot of problems.
I need to picture the Fjord “with my plane aligned vertically with the top of the cliff and the fjord’s eastern end” . It is already pretty hard to understand what part of the fjord , or the fjord in its entirety is needed for the picture but the added requirements make this a puzzle for me.
I have probably made close to 100 pictures from every angle , plane close , plane far , zoomed in , zoomed out , tilted , in daylight , dawn , dusk … I have no idea what I can do to make the picture validate.
Is there somebody who can show me what this picture needs to be? Or send me in the right direction at least.
Thank you very much
I have myself stumbled over quite a few issues from wrong translations over missing Moai statues and missing towers in Monument valley to cases where the objective is clearly fulfilled and yet it’s not recognized. Sometimes only the pre-set aircraft is accepted but the objective doesn’t tell you so. My current example: The rotor is off, the whole engine is off, and yet …
I created a bug ticket about missing 3D models for scenery which in several cases makes it hard or impossible to complete a mission (Update: Bug only applies to SU 1 Beta as for now):
Specifically, if anyone knows how to solve the first mission - “Bear and rabbit summit” or the last mission - “Chimney Rock” - in the “Notable Rocks” collections with a star I would be very grateful if you could share it. Without the proper 3D models in place it is imho impossible to find out where exactly the developers wanted the aircraft/camera to be.
Does anyone know how to get the Suez Canal shot in “Mankind’s Megatructures”? Supposed to be a shot from the south end with the mediteranean in the background. Tired it from a hundred different angles and from altitudes ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 feet. It registers I am taking the photo but wont give me the star. The mediteranean isn’t exatly hard to miss, its the only body of water to the north of the canal.
I just tried the Suez Canal mission and got the star in the 2nd attempt, after I repositioned my airplane a bit further south of the “southern end” and at 37.000 feet height. It’s likely not your height that’s wrong, more likely your horizontal position.
Yep i got it thanks, turns out i wasnt far enough south but im now stuck on the Las Vegas one. Should be Las Vegas in its entirety from above at night. Spunds simple but vsnt get anything to register.
“Megastructures → Dubai’s artificial archipelagos”: First star is for “With the World, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Jumeirah entirely in the frame”.
Anyone knows what I’m doing wrong here? I can’t get the first objective to be accepted although I clearly have all the the named island groups all in the frame, unless I am completely mistaken.
I’ve also tried vastly different flight levels and camera zoom in/out … no change.
FS 2024 release (no Beta version)
Update: Just after writing this I managed to get the 3rd star, from a flight level of insane 45000 ft. It’s really no fun if the game plays unfair like this …
