It’s the same in the sim as well!
ps spent a few months in Manchester and the center is a lovely place lots of nice bars and restuarants and pretty lively at night.
Yes but think how many extra office jobs there must be now that lots of farms and houses have been replaced by those white office blocks.
Think of them as multi storey cattle sheds.
Just installed VR update.
HP Reverb G2 works at 35 - 40 fps. i5 8600k @ 4.8Ghz, 16Gbt RAM, RTX 2080ti.
Flown over Alscot. RAF Stratford upon Avon, privately owned. No special runway improvement for the sim. Just as it is in RL. A dirt strip with a lot of weeds.
There’s a 3rd Party Add-on for Wellesbourne Mountford. It’s better but not quite there. The Touchdown Cafe doesn’t have windows in the sim.

You must be from Liverpool then?
For all those on here citing “Manchester” they are doing Manchester Barton - EGCB, a grass strip NE of the main Manchester Airport EGCC but with good quick access either North to the Lakes or South via the Manchester Low Level Route that runs underneath the Manchester and Liverpool airspace.
They have used the airfield in a number of films and TV shows, predominantly if they are shooting a WW2 film, oh and Alan Sugar crashed his plane here once.
Lol. No, I’m not but Liverpool is the much better city.
On Bing Maps the UK mainland is fully covered with aerials now so we can expect a “complete” world update this time.
It doesn’t seem any different?
I think the next world update is in Jan 2021
Manchester Barton EGCB s on Flightsim.to
Just flew along Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands…passing the most photographed mountain in Scotland, Buachaille Etive Mòr, I’ve got to admit it looked pretty horrendous with all those auto gen trees on it. Hoping some kind of UK update or sim update fixes this as it takes away the immersion when flying up there.
I wouldn’t hold your breath on the update doing anything to remove Autogen trees from mountains. The system they use is quick and dirty I am afraid. It gets quick results but accuracy is just not a consideration. I have complained about this and have pointed out to Asobo how imperative it is to have trees in the right places and the correct varieties too if they want to replicate the real world accurately, I got no response whatsoever. Pardon the cliché but the developers cannot see the wood for the trees.
One of the 3rd Party contributors will create the Scottish islands and Highlands to reality.
There is already a ‘Deforested Snowdonia’.
Oi Oi Oi!
Going to hang fire now and not bother with any more TP addons (UK) until the World Update to see what Asobo have done.
For those doing a lot of flying in UK, I wonder if it is worth dumping the rolling and manual cache just prior to update? I know that this is what I currently plan to do.
For all those living in Bristol UK. There is a quite brilliant free mod over on Flightsim.to. Just search for Bristol in scenery. There is also an amazing Clifton suspension bridge and Avonmouth mod that fits in alongside it as well.
Guessed you were as scouser, LOL but what I’d like to know what will happen when it comes out if you have Orbx Central installed.
Those are great mods, but they bring my framerates down to a crawl. The bridges have no impact though
Additionally, Mark has also done Yate & Chipping Sodbury and Keith Hackett has done the Grand Pier at Weston Super Mare over at AVSIM (or was it Flightsim.com).
Not had a major hit on my framerate using these mods. Though since the update my framerate has dropped considerably anyway. I get about 30fps while over the mods in the A32O, and about 35+ in a GA.
