World Update VIII: Iberia

True, but it has some of the nicest scenery there, so I don’t think they should judge whether an update gets a region sooner or later solely on its population.

What percentage of people in Japan play MSFS, yet they got the first update.

The latitude is far more plausible, as you suggest.

We know no more than you do, you need to ask the developers.

But Sardinia will be a definite no. It’s in Italy, not even close to Iberia.

I wish someone could tell us if the Canary Islands will be included, I would love to see a GCXO airport in that WU man!!

I’d be curious to know how many simmers are from Canada…? Would that make a difference? Maybe not…

I’m very excited about this. Hopefully Canary, Balearic, Azores and Madeira will be included. I’d love to see the big telescopes in La Palma added, just like they did the ones in the Big Island in Hawaii. That 2m resolution could be epic in the Canary islands!

I know but I ususlly fly with some lazy friends that never care too much about addons, just official updates and I want to share my experience with them

I tried to find out - but Google in its ludicrosity (nice word, huh?) as usual just pumps out the Japan update for FS links!

I bet it’s very popular there - in fact I bet all the flight sims are/were popular there.

edit - I think I am right - found these, which do suggest it:

and…

So Japan has a way higher population, it has 2 major global airlines (ANA and JAL) and Canada has one, it has more transported passengers per year than Canada but Canada has more…trees…and snow.

Tell them that they don’t know what they’re missing.
MSFS would be nothing without the community

Hi friend.

You don´t have to wait for the WU8 to have 2m DEM in the Canary Islands and the telescopes, both in Roque de los Muchachos (La Palma) and Izaña (Tenerife).

They are available since long ago thanks to the community:

Enjoy.

EDIT: Oh, I jumped too fast to tell you (If I read the word “telescope” I inmediately jump into overdrive mode). I see you already knew, and others told you in this thread …

What’s the matter with you people??? Can’t you just be happy that you aren’t flying Xplane, with it’s cartoony scenery, and terrible cockpits? Or happy that you don’t have to deal with the small, boring regions that look as boxy and bad as Xplane? None of them with good landmarks. He!!, DCS can’t even use the names of the real casinos in their Nevada map. They claim that it’s a mythical version of Las Vegas. But the truth is, they’re cheapskates.
The worst scenery in MSFS is better than the very best of any other sim out there. Just be happy that we as simmers have gotten this upgrade in life.

There maybe copyright issues with using real names… However I agree with your other assessments.

Please, don’t use the word “we”. Speak for yourself, not for others.

Sure is fantastic news. 100% Needs to include Balearics, Azores, Maderia and Canary Islands though, not just mainland.

The Island of La Palma should feature the recently solidified lava flows, and Los Llanos de Aridane needs to be labelled in the correct location, being the most populous town on the island.

I guess it is our dutty as simmers, to take those tourists from the UK to Spain / Portugal in our A32NX aircraft… (or whatever a/c you are using…)

Actually, that´s the kind of flight I simulate. Maybe not the tourists (i´m sure out there is an addon for that…), but the flight itself… sure.
