That would not make a difference. What would make a difference would be:
- Availability of improved DEM data
- Interesting points of interest (i.e. Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, and other things).
- Number of simmers who would like to fly there.
A ton of that “second largest country” is very flat grass/farmland or flat ice. Pretty boring. It does, however, have some interesting features to the west around the Rockies and to the east from Montreal to New Foundland. Western Canada/Alaska is super popular for bush flying.
I have a place in my heart for the Prince of Wales hotel and the associated Glacier National Park on the US side of that lake. It’s too bad we’re melting all of our glaciers.
It’s sad to see the Glacier now. Back in the 70’s/80’s I remember they were right at the road side. I was there last year and it’s quite a trek to get to them now.
On another note Drumheller is an interesting place to take a small GA

On the subject of scenery, what is Japan, China like?
I’m yet to fly in them parts, could these areas do with a world update.
Any speculations on whether Lisbon will be one of the handcrafted airports in WUVIII? I’m trying to decide if I want to buy the payware version.
Just a total guess but I don’t think microsoft consider customer location when deciding which areas get priority. (They probably did in FSX cos that was the limit of their info).
Surely MS now know which areas are popularly used. Their servers must give them that info.
As I said it’s just a guess but it’s what I’d do if I was trying to work out what would be popular $$££€€

Japan got the first world update and has a LOT of photogrammetry cities and hand made airports and POIs.
China lags behind.
But Japan is one of the best countries in sim.
Melilla airport (GEML) would also be a nice adding as it has a challenging approach
Ah yes I forgot japan already had an update, Im yet to fly around them parts, hopefully China will get an update one day as well.
Remember that world updates are also pending of data, such as DEM and updated satellite data. MS work together with local governments/companies to acquire some of this data, so obviously some countries like China are more difficult than others.
Canada does at least have some existing Photogrammetry cities, plenty of places around the world that have none at all.
I wait for Northern Spain most. I hope Balearis would come too, Madeira could be too much hoped.
