Fantastic!!
I think a matte finish on the shinier parts of the instruments might help to reduce reflections, and permit seeing the controls and readouts. Sheās looking more gorgeous as time passes. Although Iāll admit Iām chomping at the bit to get hold of this bird.
Yes I can increase roughness a little bit but then panels appear darker, maybe I have to lighten the base colorā¦ consider that I used a camera position exactly in order to emphasize the glass reflections, in normal position you see just a little reflection from the panels.
HI @PopsMcDaddyo a great hug and many thanks for your words that really help me to keep on this effort, I would like to achieve the most realistic replica of this mighty airplane, that even if (fortunately) was never involved in combat operations, was an invaluable laboratory for high speed and high altitude research, involving shock wawes control, materials, guidance systems, pilots safety.
Piloting this plane makes one feel a pioneer of supersonic flight to the edge of space flight. It deserves all the work I am putting in. I hope that the final version will have the contribution of very expert and skilled developers and engineers and will be loved by all the people fascinated by this true āvalkyrieā!!!
Nah, itās notā¦ but you might have missed this animation in the first load of posts. Here you go for the bearings on the hand hold:
Keep up the good work, Airmax! Looking amazing!
Yes, yes it does! Itās also a plane that isnāt covered, at all really, in a quality way. Iām very excited to see where you go with this plane and how it turns out. This is one of those āin the envelopeā planes from the early supersonic/figuring it all out days thatās intriques me. Right up there with the SR-71, X15, X1 programs for me!
Keep at it!
I tried Wayback machine and that didnāt work for the 360 degree images either. I found the URLs but didnāt work:
Canāt wait for this, any updates?
Hello all, I have just discovered that the AF Museum XB70 has been moved again for maintenance, the video is stunning!!!
this beautiful piece of engineering seems still perfectly ready to be taken again in the air for a flightā¦ wow she looks so beautiful!
I warmly suggest to watch this video, itās really worth the time.
More importantly, howās your XB-70 coming along?
I realize itās an inanimate object, but donāt you get the feeling it enjoys being brought out into the sun?
Yes I do!!! And it was also cleaned and will undergo a good maintenance.
But I think that even Elon Musk or another billionaire (or a State) couldnāt afford the costs and technical challenges required to put this bird into the air again (as it was done, eg for the Avro Vulcan). So it will never fly againā¦
Furthermore, this is the first prototype, if the more advanced prototype would have survived, who knows, things could have gone differentlyā¦!
But they will go differently in MSFS 2020!
How long will it take ? I still donāt know, all is up to the developer and I have signed a NDA so I canāt give you any news about this.
But I can assure it will be fantastic.
ā¦left apart the risk of loosing the only survived XB70 foreverā¦
no, it will not fly again, definitively!
The simple idea it could end up like the tragical story of the B-29 āKee Birdā is enough to leave this possibility to the dreams only.
Thereās a really good video on Youtube about the Kee Birdās restoration and eventual fire before they got it off the ground. Such a sad thing to happen for all the people involved. It would have been an absolute unit if they would have gotten it to saftey.
Fingers crossed we see the XB-70 soon. This and the Blackbird Simulations SR-71 are the two planes I have at the absolute top of my must have list!!
Ooooo, thatās an intriguing revelation! As long as youāre getting a fair whack out of it, I canāt wait to see it when it arrives!
And the B-58 Hustler.
Airmax514 as an avid aircraft enthusiasts. Iām truly looking forward to flying this aircraft in MSFS if you ever need a tester for the Xbox Series X Iād be glad to help. I love the fact flight sim lets us fly some of historyās greatest aircraft and Iād be glad to help bring this one to life.
Hey man! HUGE fan of the xb-70, just curious if we can get an update?
thank you!
Work is in HUGE progressā¦ hopefully youāll have updates reasonably soon. Be patient, Iām sure it will be worth it!
Thanks for the update @Airmax514 - still anticipating this plane massively!
