Xbox Launch Week

This is so true. I miss travelling and can’t wait to do some “virtual” travelling in Flight Simulator.

Also saw the download on my XBOX Series S so am super excited… It’s out on the 27th but I think in Australia it will activate one day later, on the 28th. Not sure though.

The Sky is Calling!

Indeed, do you think they might create an XBOX focused discussion area? I presume the General Discussion would get quite busy!

wow almost 100gb

defiantely need to get the Series X instead due of the larger SSD.

but since i found my local store with Series S but would wait to get an series X instead since there hard to find

I think it’ll be 1.00am 28th in AUS.

I sure hope they do. Just like they did for VR. So I can immediately mute the entire section.

Yes I think that they should and that they probably will :slightly_smiling_face:

Completely understand and respect your position. It would also allow XBOX users to discuss freely their issues and/or discussion(s) relating to the game without any confusion between the different versions (PC/XBOX).

However, I personally feel that the XBOX release should be celebrated by all members of the community. As a former PC Simmer myself, the XBOX release allows a larger and wider community to engage into the simulation. Indeed, I presume that MSFS2020 received as much attention and funding due to the XBOX release - a good release and larger community only benefits all players, including those on PC.

There are a couple of videos up on the group page (if thats what its called) and scroll over to “watch”. Not very long, but one is from outside the plane in New York and the other is from the cockpit of a Cessna flying over some trees. Looks pretty good, not sure where it is although one of the markers says Thornbury.

I finished the download on xBox, started the game and could at least enjoy the “press any button” video. Yes it’s back and I like it

I can mute forum sections ? wow, thanks for that info, I did not know. I#ll find out how to do that.
Not for Xbox, but other categories which I have no interest in.

How about veteran players wouldn’t think about Xbox users as “console players” but “new players” instead? It doesn’t matter which platform one plays on, if they’re new then obviously they’ll have a lot of questions. And it’s not a shame to ask questions on the forum - everyone was a newbie once.

With the console release, Flight Simulator will be available for a larger audience than ever. And there are many serious players among console users as well. The most casual of them will probably not bother coming here to this forum anyway. Whoever does is probably interested in Flight Simulator enough to learn more about it.

I’m a “veteran” player and am very positive about the XB version from the beginning because it wil interest a complete new generation and therefore secure the future of flight simulator….

If find it rather odd to assume that consoles are for younger players.

Half of my male collegues in the office, all 30+ years, have a gaming console. Either PS or Xbox. Of those ~10 gamers in the office, I’m the only one with a Gaming PC…Maybe it’s a German thing ? Don’t know about other countries. Many of the collegues just play FIFA though.

And inaccurate. I’ve seen research to suggest that the average console gamer is aged 28-35.

I’m expecting some gentle teasing from some of the ‘veterans’ of the Xbox crowd (as well as a little more unpleasant ‘entitlement’ from a minority).

Nevertheless, I intend to be enjoying MSFS and plan to share my joy here.

I also suspect, looking at the community guidelines:

"One World, One Community - Not matter how you play – regardless of console, experience level, or reason – we are one community of aviation lovers."**

That the community moderators have our back. :grinning: :+1:

Well I’m 40 and I play mainly on my Series X. I’ve already sunk 30+ hours into MSFS on my laptop but will mostly play on console starting next week, simply because it will look and run much better. The platform of choice has nothing to do with one’s maturity. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the skies. Remember, we’re one community regardless of the machine running the sim. :airplane:

To the OP id love your internet i only download at 42MB/s…Glad to see more people can get into this sim…I so cant wait for Sim update 5, I just hope it inproves VR Preformance

I agree. PC simmer here but let’s hope that we welcome these new guys and help them without any of the sarcastic comments i’ve seen on other flight sim forums. A split community is a bad experience for everybody. Anyway, although i’ve not got the latest xbox i’m still quite interested in seeing how it’s all going to work out on the console and in following the discussions.

Was originally going for the competitor console but after found out MSFS is coming to XBOX there was no question.
Got my Thrustmaster HOTAS couple of weeks ago and ready for take off on 27th!

With few hundred flights around the world as a passenger can’t wait to get back into “air” after long (covid) break.

I feel sorry for the people who want a Xbox Series X and there no where to be found at RRP Here in the UK at least

Well, yes. Similar story to the lack of GPUs for PCs. I think a lot of people have held off updating those (me included) to avoid paying stupid amounts to the scalpers.
