I got lucky on my RTX 3080 I Pre ordered launch day last Sep and got it at RRP at £780 mid Dec
I don’t normally buy products fresh on launch day but I would definitely say on this occasion you made a good decision.
My understanding is that the Broadband sweet-spot for this game is 20-50 Mbps, so you should be good.

They are very difficult to get a hold of, I was lucky a few weeks back there.
That’s why I got a Series S. Lol, the Series S was actually on sale - 10-20% off on Amazon so it was a bargain. Will upgrade in the future when the X is cheaper and more available.
It’s conceivable that a small keyboard with trackpad might be a good addition to an Xbox compatible HOTAS. I’d like to second the point above that the lack of any Xbox ‘gameplay’ is a pity.

Nice. A traditional mouse will be impractical on my sofa. Let’s see what transpires after launch (and I’d like to see how easy it is to use controls with just a HOTAS).
For my PC, I use a trackball on the sofa instead of a mouse.
Yes. This is indeed the traditional approach to flight Sim control.
There have been some hints that Asobo have revisited the Xbox controller interface but I can still imagine that some of the more complex systems are always going to be easier to control with the addition of keys and mouse. After all, even a full hotas set up is still often not enough.
Those struggling to get a series x go for series s instead,that’s what i did and will upgrade to series x later on.

How is the xbox version ready to download while SU5 is still in testing phase? I thought it was the same codebase?
They can dl it they just cant play it yet.
Me too. My youngest son turned 29 recently. So, XBox owners up to an age of ~35 are youngsters for me. 
Will people have to redownload if changes are made or are we wasting our time testing and nothing will actually be fixed before the 27th?
I think that if they’re offering it for DL its done, You wont have anymore big downloads until the next su or wu updates…then bam another big download for everyone lol ;p
Just a thought, but have any of you Xbox people tried setting your system clock to next Friday and see if its flyable? Would be funny/sad if that worked LOL
I think those times have passed unfortunately. A great way though in the past to accumulate a fortune in in game credits in single player RPGs but I think the devs have now finally caught on. Shame really 
Yeah I tried you can open the game offline but to change date you need to restart console once you restart it requires a internet connection to validate your license but idk I own it on gamepass so maybe someone who purchased the game outright can try it
