i dont think it will be a must, but it prob will be way easier to control stuff.
Any idea what the best button for trimming is? Or just enabling auto-trim for easy couch-playing and switching auto-trim off for playing on PC? That actually raises the question if key-bindings are separately saved per device.
You trim by pressing Y and D-PAD up/down on the xbox cotroller, or what do you mean ?
It works well, at least I have no issue with it. Short tap the button for just a tiny bit or keep it pressed longer for drastic trim change.
btw, I recommend to turn off all help if you want to really fly.
Auto-trim, brrr…
Just start with a small easy plane like Cessna 152 or Icon A5 and work your way up.
if you crash, you try again.
The only thing to maybe leave on in the beginning is autorudder for the runway. because one-propller planes drift very much to the side and that can be hard to control in the beginning.
But the rest of help settings, not sure who actually would need those.
Great to see the XBOX Series X early preview videos. Thanks for sharing! Looks great so far.
If anybody finds them, please share some Series S videos… I would be interested to see what it looks like on the S.
Nevermind… just saw the videos posted in another thread. Series S version looks awesome
on second look, that is not how the Gamepad is configured on PC.
Controller would be saved as a separate device in the controller section. You can even have multiple diff configs for the same joystick/controller (It seemed you could have like a control layout diff for GA and Airliners and switch to the appropriate one when you switch planes).
Install the helicopter mod thats out there and you’ll see what I mean…
Absolutely. I play A320 FBW on PC with all assistant off. But on xBox while chillin at the couch, I’m planning to do some bush-trips in smaller aircraft, and then some assistant is welcomed. Hence my wish that some of the settings are saved / stored per device.
Feature-wise it’s going to be the same as PC. I have no doubt of its quality, it will look and run well for sure. I think the only question is what we can do without a mouse and keyboard, purely with a controller. It’s very possible that we’ll need a mouse to get the most features working.
seems that you can interact with the cockpit with only the controller, per the streams above.
Nice!
It was not really clear so far that you could do that
Yes it hit the series x and updated, but will not be the only update, you can expect another the 26th.
I have played the early release on series x with the thruster master 3 part set up (moved thrust too right side as I fly mainly the airbus.
It visually impressive, smooth and amazing on 4k tv’s. I actually will be switching even if I have a high end pc, as many of my xbox live friends have teamed up for flying events.
It depends what devices you are using and how it is set up. look around cockpit and zooming to panel as well as short key taps to them is easy with the thrustmaster setup for xbox series s/x. (i tested on X)
With the stick thrust pedal set up its defaults are perfect but you may want to still tweak. PS keyboard commands did work even tho i prefer to leave the keyboard out of the picture.
hahahahahaha - I totally forgot about this!! Thanks for the funny reminder. Alpha testers loved moving to Kiribati! hahaha
Yeah no kidding man that was hilarious I remember all those people doing this . It would not shock me to see the same again next week!
looking to get a cheap keyboard and mouse to offload some of the work. I want to see if i really want to drop money into this. i can easily see dropping way more money into the peripherals than into the seriesX. If this takes off (pardon the pun) on the xbox i expect we should see more of the components become available on the XBOX, rather than just PC only. The machine has the horsepower, that is evident already.
The stream I mentioned above turned into a bit of a mess.
The streamer couldn’t find a ‘cockpit view’ control on the Hotas One. They put it down to the game being bugged / the game requiring BOTH a hotas and controller to fly (neither of which seem likely to me).
I have been watching streams all day, xbox controller only and they had no problems.Could it be a bug ingame to do with the hotas
Could be. I just think the streamer didn’t know what to press. There’s no obvious equivalent to “Press Right Stick” on a hotas.
