XPlane has Nothing to worry about

Nice. This Airbus pilot and flight instructor is teaching using MSFS 2020 Twitch and was teaching rudder malfunction just now Twitch

blade element theory

I love the drones that go on for days how amazing the Xplane flight model is. I know that far from every pilot out there agrees with that. You got the supporters and the ones that don’ t see anything special or revolutionary in it, I am one of those.(I have Xplane, mind you) The reason some people believe it’s so amazing, is because both P3D and Fsx are “on rails” and Xplane less, but compared to Fs2020 it’s also on rails, because air isn’t really simulated properly. Xplane was the first “big sim” that did things differently, that’s why people think that BET is perfect, special and the holy grail of flightmodel simulation, which ofc is total bs. It has its shortcomings as well, but feels more organic than fsx, I’ll give them that.

At the end of the day you’re sitting behind a desk and pretending to be a pilot. Does preferring one software over the other make you feel superior?

Uh.. no it does. Switching views has zero effect on what the plane is doing.

Nothing like XPlane? lol. Please do us a favor will ya?

Uninstall Msfs. Go sign up on Avsim. Their next flight club shuffleboard event should be coming up soon, where a bunch of old planes just sit in the field as they stand around complaining about how bad all the modern planes are.

Dont forget XPs flight modelling system is accurate enough that a prototype aircraft was developed using the blade element theory to predict how it would behave in the real world so its a proven system.

with Zibo’s 737 I do agree I’ll never leave X-plane

Banning poeple because their opinons upset you? You must be having a real hard time in these forums buddy

You do realize you are defending the company that literally did just that – shut the project down? Of all the selling points MSFS2020 has in its favor, its track record as part of the ecosystem is not one of them. A huge ecosystem built around their product and they took their ball and went home.

And there is no reason to believe a large corporation won’t decide to divest in flight sim in the future.

Do them a favour (/s) by asking if XPlane simulates mechanical turbulence.

Mechanical turbulence results from wind flowing over or around irregular terrain or man-madeobstructions. When the air near the surface of the Earth flows over obstructions, such as bluffs, hills, mountains, trees or buildings, the normal horizontal wind flow is disturbed and transformed intoa complicated pattern of eddies and other irregular air movements.

MSFS simulates Mechanical turbulence 100%. In front of rwy 27 at EGGP there’s a forest area. Fly over that during final as usual and you get that mechanical turbulence. You don’t get that in XP or P3D.

Ask them if Xplane simulates air-mass simulation too. (it doesn’t).

And please don’t embarrass them by asking about clouds and their effect on the plane in Xplane.

The default weather engine is a video game in XP. Active Sky tries its best to fix it somewhat but still have issues, and it costs some extra $40 iirc.

Not to mention the default aircraft are absolute trash in XP.

Try doing it on default, no mods XPlane and then come back and tell us how it went.

look ! i am and old simmer since 1995.. i went through the horrfull steps of FSX then P3D.. and finally X Plane 11 and I agree that X Plane ( and hopefully XP12) is a gold standart for flying simulation; BUT
one cannot compare XP with all addons ( aircraft, ortho, sceneries, navigational mods etc
) with a native FS2020.
On my opinion today FS2020 will become the gold standart since it’s obviously a step toward in term of graphics, weather and even aerodynamic which is not so bad as some guys are saying
I am a real PPL flying on Cessnas and Cirrus AND I assume the feeling is really very closed to real life
now of course there are a lot of features to be improved with the time and developers
even the navigation programming is really interesting implementing SIDS and STARS that wasn’t the case for long with FSX and even X Plane
for example the Airbus A350 from FFactor was implemented with the navigation data just recently
I think you guys are too much impatients..
just see what you got for 69 boxes ::::

Exactly, and it should never be finished. A great flight sim is never finished. It keeps itself up-to-date with latest hardware and software technology, real world aviation and related features. It keeps adding to itself latest features and simulates them realistically, which eventually introduces bugs that are then investigated by devs, unlike Xplane’s Austin who said, “my faith in photogrammetry is LoWoWoWOwOw” https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/gKyPjJVwboA

Where are you and your vulkan now, Austin? How many people on Steam and Twitch are using your Xplane as opposed to the 16,400 people that are playing MSFS on Steam alone?

Xplane 11 has 15 viewers right now. That’s right. 15. MSFS has 11,200.

So just keep with Zibos and X Plane 11
 and leave FS2020 indeed !!!

what are you talking about? you can fly any plane in xp , fsx and p3d with an xbox controller. Does that make them less of a sim? You guys need to quit crying and go enjoy the game. Once pmdg and other addon devs releases payware plane, I wonder what you guys are going to cry about next

Payware plane will just make msfs 2020 run worse in FPS dept.

Stutters and bad FPS are from aircraft with g1000 system and heavy modeling and graphics..

Xp11 default scenery is perfect?

Whatever. I’m not sure XP11 is “ahead” in many areas except the flight model is more matured after decades of Austin tweaking it.

MSFS already has better scenery, better weather, better ATC, better AI, better lighting, better ground handling, and a much more wide focus overall.

I am talking about the arcade like experience with this sim, you don’t expect people to do vfr barrel rolls all day long.

I don’t think we should complain about any posts by x-plane users/fanboys claiming that x-plane is superior to FS2020. We should in fact welcome such post in this forum - even though there is already a 'X-plane has nothing to worry about" thread at the ‘General Flight Sim’ forum at the x-plane.org forum. IMO we should even invite x-plane users to make, with as much coordination as possible, as many ‘x-plane is better for XY reasons’ post as they can, WHILST WE SPEND OUR TIME ENJOYING OURSELVES FLYING FS2020. That can only be beneficial for us FS users.
Let us take the point of view that x-plane users are just deeply disappointed that FS2020 does not offer them EVERY FEATURE that they want so that they can delete x-plane from their hard disk. Let’s pretend that they believe that their complaining posts here will be read by MS and make MS immediately stop any further development aimed at getting FS2020 ready for the Xbox mass-market (45 million X.box units sold) and concentrate on first fulfilling all the wishes of perhaps 10,000 x-plane users (although number does seem to be reducing daily) :disappointed_relieved:
