I completely agree, this wasn’t the brightest decision as more steps to getting the whole thing working leads to more issues. I’ll make it an option in the next version.
The Working Title CJ4 would be nice. As well as all the Wokring Title Garmins
Lots of new aircraft coming soon, but the WT garmins should be supported
So we are trying it right now and it works out of the box. But there is a small problem. When I am clicking a button it has an instant response at my friends airplane. But when he does an action there is like a 5-8 sec delay until the switch is flipped at me. We tried both hosting a server it doesnt matter and we did both direct and cloud server.
Do you have any ideas what the problem might be?
Regards
I am sure we all appreciate what you have achieved with this MOD, especailly the Server-Client part – especially well done with that part …
But School work is #1
But, saying that I hope that you ale able to find the time to work with your testing team, and get some of the Premium & Delux, more simple GA aircraft, fully synchronized …
I appreciate that may be difficult - I have been trying to find someone who work with me to test and fix shared cockpit for the C172 Steam – but its not easy to find someone who, both has that aircraft , and is able to do what is required to help test it …
Fast concluding, that the easier way, is to just purchase a 2nd copy of MSFS, and work on both ends myself. Would be a lot faster !!!
So we just tested it and when crolling in things in the G1000 it sometimes becomes asynchronized. And after a waypoint has been entered, when you want to enter the next one it the previous one is suggested and at my friend this isnt suggested so if I scroll to the next letter thats consequently a different letter for him than for me.
Would like that, too (DA40 TDI!). One question: is the GNS430/530 already working? There is no separate module for those in the yaml definitions but I don’t completely understand the structure there anyway. For example I could not find where syncing of all the G1000 buttons are defined.
Two other questions:
- would it be very inconvenient to add a non-installer version again?
- where is the source of the files that are added into the community folder? Could not find them in the GitHub project (sorry if I’m just blind…).
If you are talking about GitHub source files for the GNS530 mod … that’s not the place to go.
You should use the latest released version as posted in the GNS530 Mod Thread by the author … all the files are in that distribution – there is no “source files” to be compiled (ie is’t all Js , Html and Css) - no WASM.
As for if the GNS530 is already working – No idea, as I have not found anyone willing (or able) to do any meaningful testing.
No, I meant in the simvar definitions where it is defined what is synced:
I’m not sure what the problem could be… maybe other processes are limiting resources that the mod can use?
Working on adding some of the premium aircraft in
Yeah I’ve been thinking about adding it back given that some people had trouble opening the installer for some reason. In the meantime you can just grab the zip that the installer downloads from here and place the contents of community/YourControls
inside your community folder. The optionals
folder are just some things you can put into the community folder that replicates the Default TBM
and Default DA62
options in the installer.
The source of the community files are not currently in the GitHub but you can find the JS source in the community folder of the installation.
I believe all avionics are automatically synced as all H: events
are automatically captured and sent.
Well the delay wasnt really a problem. What was rather bad was the when for example scrolling in the g1000 becomes asynchronus. Bcs you can get it synchronized again and use it to program waypoint or frequency. and thats why we decided not to fly.
Maybe there is a way when you press a switch to program it that the client of the other friend sends back a confirmation if the switch has been pressed and if that doesnt happen the action (clicking the switch) is send again.
Maybe thats already implemented but there must be a way to ensure every action happens at the others client. Bcs when scrolling fast it can become asynchronous.
Got it yeah I thought I implemented the avionics pretty reliably but there still seems to be something that’s causing some inputs to be dropped… I’ll have to do some more testing to find out. As a workaround, you can fill in the flightplan individually and then connect and fly, or perhaps clear the flightplan window everytime it goes out of sync and keep retrying.
The problems some people encounter might the same as mine: My provider (Deutsche Telekom) has currently problems with the bandwidth to certain Amazon servers that happen to host GitHub. I can only download with extremely low speed (56k modem like). Workaround is using something like https://www.hidemyass.com/de-de/proxy. But this is course does not work with the installer downloading files (would need to set up a real VPN connection).
I have the MSFS steam gauge 172 and that is what I primarily fly…its what I am training on in RL, albeit at a snail’s pace. Let me know if you want some help. I am just learning about YourControls. Shouldn’t be too hard as I am used to mods and many different sims: XPLane, DCS, IL-2, MSFSX, and heck CFS2 and CFS3 for that matter.
Edit…weird, I changed my XBox gamer tag to SlicebackID but I am showing up here in the forums with the old auto gen tag the app gave me when I signed up to be a pre-release tester…that tag was an odd mix.
@Crea808, thanks for all your work on YourControl. My son and I use it often to fly together. Question, I have the most current version 2.4.1 ash shown:
However in the Content Manager it shows v2.3.2:
Did I miss something during the installation of the update?
Planning to make a tutorial for creating new definition files, however we are working to support all premium aircraft very soon.
Nope you haven’t done anything wrong, I just forgot to update the version text for the community package so everything should work fine regardless.
