2024 Career Mode

Really nice joke

Interesting. I don’t get anywhere near what you are claiming for VIP missions. And the Cargo missions may get up to a million credits for a flight, not for a 3 hour flight for me. My airliners get around what you are reporting.

Credits mentioned are with bad weather bonus, so what you get when finished the mission. When selecting the mission the base amount is lower.

Vision jet is equal to the c-172 so Vip flights with the vision jet are lower than the pc-12, pc-24, king air and cj-4 (longer flights/range). Can advice to get the pc-24, flies better than the pc-12 and cheaper than the cj-4

Think it also matters where you fly… some regions in Europe (GB) for example have much lower payouts

You also want to build a fleet of passive earning planes which fly when you do. To start with get a few C172’s as they are cheaper to maintain. The more expensive your plane the more time it takes to pay it off and the more expensive to maintain.

For 5 hours on a mission this is what my planes earn for Passive Cr - but then you have maintenance costs after 12 to 15 hurs. So think carefully how you achieve the passive credits.
Cargo
Saab 340 - 635,300Cr
PC-24 - 516,510Cr
C408 - 511,690
PC-12 - 504,280
C208 - 368,340
Draco - 69,000
C172 - 59,250

VIP
Dont touch CJ4 - toooo expensive and uneconomical (unless they change the earnings for it and lower maintenance fees)
350i - 601,420
PC-24 - 564,880
PC-12 - 552,530
DA62 - 256,390
TBM - 171,850
G58 - 118,470
G2 jet - 114,010
G36 - 97,380
Corvalis C400 - 74,430
C22 - 58,020
C172 - 58,020…Corvalis more expensive to maintain

Airline
SAAB - 645,650

Rescue
PC-24 - 541,340
PC-12 - 529,330

Passenger airliner
737 flying a mission on its range limits that’s 8hrs long can earn up to 20millon, hit X 2 simrate during cruise
737, crewed on passive will earn you approx 800k per hour, so for the above mentioned 8hr flight that’s another 6million
Maintenance fees are higher but can be tamed with frequent checkups which are only 600k, which is small change with these numbers you can earn in the 737.
If I started flying the 172 and earning pennies again, I’d have to uncrew the 737s because the costs outweigh what you earn in the Cessna

Where do you find VIP missions? If I filter for Charter Service - VIP in freelance, I don’t see a single mission in Europe or anywhere else for that matter. I have only explored a few locations outside of EU.

Hmmm.. maybe it is because I don’t own any aircraft that are compatible with VIP charter missions.

Hi, do you own a VIP charter company? In order to fly this type of mission you will need to buy one and then buy the planes after you have done the certifications for the respective licences and specialisations. I don’t know if you have got these or not but it is very possible to work your way towards it. You won’t see VIP missions until you own the company and a plane relevant to the mission. Then they are all over the world.

Dont expect MS to do anything about this. There has been numerois complaints over the past months, seemingly falling on deaf ears. Career mode is the only component worth playing at this time, but with a laundry list of incomprehensible issues, it is so bad that I had to stop playing completely. I would love to at least hear " Yes, we are working on this.
please be patient". And someone in a sr position should be summarily fired and replaced with a somewhat more competent clown…

I just tried a skydiving mission in career with a Cessna caravan somewhere around Houston, Texas. I am not sure the specific airport. It loaded me in and as the game was loading I could tell the plane and my character was standing in about 6 inches of water. I was going to try and do the pre-flight anyways but as soon as it finished loading, the mission failed before I could even move an inch. It said that I moved the airplane before completing pre-flight and it was an immediate mission failure and my reputation went down instantly. This is completely unacceptable to be having such huge failures 8 months afdter launch. Seriously Microsoft/Asobo???

Career mode was all I did for the first few months of MSFS, then, with all the bugs mentioned above (and more) and more importantly, some nice payware aircraft become available, but not available for career mode, I haven’t done career mode since SU2 Beta first came out. It’s surprising that these bugs are still out there at first, but then it becomes less surprising as they have been working on Sim wide issues.

Not to disagree with @Traveler02760 but free flight with a few add-ons is now vastly superior to career mode FOR ME.

Hopefully they start allowing third party stuff to work in career, I’d love to fly freight with PMDG’s 777F using Beyond ATC for ATC and GSX for ground handling. While these products are not perfect at all yet, they are much improved over the default, and would make Career Mode worth using once again.

Forget about this only things that you bot from Ms store will work in career mode. Why? I have no idea but as a result career mode is not only buggy but unusful. One more thing tho game has still so many bugs… that… no comments

I bought the PMDG 777F in the marketplace specifically in case this was correct, but MSobo has said they plan on letting add-ons that are available on Marketplace, and set up correctly to work in career mode, into career mode, regardless of whether purchased in Marketplace, or elsewhere, problem is this is not the case yet.

Just tried to do some missions again.

It is - as many other things with current MSFS2024 development - very frustrating. You can clearly see so much potential. Missions could be so much fun and rewarding.
But every minute in a mission you just encounter another game breaking bug.

If it is, that scooping of the CL125 isn’t recognized properly, so you can’t fight a fire, because lady wants you still to scoop (beside water tanks are already full). Scoop point is in a nonsense area or a much too small river.
Waypoints for banner advertising are bogus and gets you a fine when you follow them.
Heli sling load dropzone is between high trees: imagine what? you get of course a fine, beside it is extremely unrealistic and difficult so solve the mission then.
And not talked about the nonsense with ATC to go to the “stop point” (even with a heli) which is not recognized of course.

Please drop all that ATC and other scripted nonsens and make the missions much more free for the user!
Let the user just drop the fire out as he likes and focus instead to recognise if the fire gets deleted, instead of the other nonsene with correct runway, stop point, pattern, exact waypoints or scoop areas.

Let the user fly the advertising banner in a certain area, but do not set all these nonsense waypoints along (ever flown that missions on a coast with many small bays?

Focus on creating proper drop zones for helis, instead of punish them for not correct taxi speed and ignoring the stop point.

You could yourself and us users do a lot of favour if you take all that nonsene out of the missions and make the core of each mission proper instead. And then, I do not talk about implementing 3rd party addons, which is also frustrating that this is not possible until now (and I fear it will later on only for marketplace addons, what is the next nonsense)

It is a real promising system …

Sorry, sounds harsh, sounds frustrating, its intended.
rant over

(no, I do not file single bug reports for this. Wasted time tbh!)

If you don’t file bug reports, you might expect the situation to just continue. Unless it’s a bug report that gets ingested into the system, there’s no reason for Asobo to devote resources to fixing things they aren’t aware of. By writing here you aren’t really talking to Asobo.

done all that formerly. Thats part of my frustration with Asobo/MS.
Rarely see any feedback or fixing. Even with bugs which have meanwhile hundreds of votes.
And the mission/career system is so full of bugs, that I for sure do not start to report evey single one.
you can’t seriously tell me that they are not aware of … they just need to play it for 5 minutes.

I do wonder if they use the same version as us. If they do play, and I understand Jorg flies in VR (not sure about Career mode though), how are they not experiencing the dings. Also, if you didn’t know, after SU3 downloads we will be dinged for flying VFR near clouds - even whispy ones!

If they cannot fix the runway dings and ATC dings they should be removed from the game. 8 months tomorrow and still the dings keep coming and it seems are a very, very low priority.

I agree. Sharing bug reports is a waste of time.

As I understood, I hoped I understood it well, the focus so far is/was on solving the performance issues.

The career bugs are just partial solved, new bugs are introduced since SU1 and SU2 (what will SU3 bring?) and the big annoying bugs still remain present.

I realy hope there will be some big steps foward very very …and very soon. I love the career mode and see all the potetial but atm I am checking out 3rd party stuff to enjoy the career part of the Sim. I think many others that love career are doing the same. So… @Asobo …make it happen pls, the sooner the better otherwise the in Sim career is doomed.

Many bug reports posted, many logged, many still not fixed, many can’t be reproduced, many incommunicado
The passenger missions crashing at the gates which can cost millions to fix after U have dropped millions to buy the plane that crashes at the gates can ruin and break career modes
It takes weeks and 100s of hours to save up $20million only to have the Sim big out and take it all away
This has been noted and raised for 6months and there has been nothing done to fix it
The 747 is going to cost 250million imagine saving up and loading up first time to have it crash at the gates and cost 50million to fix. You will need atleast 300mio just to cover the operational risks the Sim can deliver on your maiden flight with your new plane
The maintenance fees and checkups are also exhorborant, sometimes guaranteed to run a passive loss if you are not doing a 600k checkup every 6hours in the 737. Imagine what it’s going to be like for heavies. This has all been communicated, but zero acknowledgment from the devs
