Looks like it struck again:
Interesting. I wonder how many people who have experienced this in the past are using both an XBox, and a PC? Also, which direction are they going when they experience this i.e. PC>XBox or XBox>PC.
Okay. Now I’m a victim of this again, just now!
Man, this NEEDS to stop!
I’ll throw my name into the list as well - lost hours on Friday night and fired up the sim today to reset accessibility settings too. Assume control assignments will follow! Certainly something up lately.
Same here last week some time. First time it’s happened to me.
Control Profiles were messed up a few months ago and even after I fix them, still from time to time it mixes stuff up or wiped individual binds out. That’s since Ornithopter I think.
Continuing to chronicle this issue:
Keeps happening:
Here’s another:
Here we go again:
Yeah, my entire logbook got wiped during an update pre SU 15.
Was informed could never get it back.
PC Store vers.
Looks like another one:
same here.
had problems on logging in even since before the SU15 Update, where it couldn’t sign me in with my microsoft/xbox account alltrough i started the sim via the xbox-app.
The Update to SU15 went smooth, no complain about this…
BUT, just 2 day ago (thats 05/27/24) the same issue accured, after starting the sim i got an error message saying something like “cannot verfiy your license”… and on restart…BOOM all settings, profile logs, archievemts, etc gone ;(
Luckily I was able to recover the most of it via my own backup datas i had from another two days before when SU15 was released.
But in the end of the Story, I totally agree with the “on-point-Statement” made by the Topic autor in his introducion to adress the problem:
Looks like another instance, but this individual seems to have been able to solve it:
Are these issues MS Store or Steam?
Usually the profile problems seem to be specific to the MS Store. I don’t actually recall seeing anyone on the Steam version having account issues.
SU15 does seem to have a bug where the hours to next level has broken, it always shows 0. But all other data is still there.
It was well reported in beta testing but didn’t seem to get fixed for some reason.
Yes, but the issue here is a complete wipe of user data – specifically the hours flown and logbook.
I am MS Store, I cannot speak for others.
That sucks.
I’ll add, I’ve never seen that kind of thing from Steam. I’ve got games I’ve forgotten about from years/lifetimes ago that seem to be jumping at me to resume where I left off.
Considering MS ownes OneDrive (which is amazing), their store, and MSFS (which is amazing )I don’t know why it’s such a problem.
The $1,000,000 question.
If it’s not a problem, I’d consider moving to Steam for 2024. It should transfer okay since we still sign in to MSFS with the xbox account.
If I understand correctly, Marketplace purchases do not transfer between Steam and MS Store.
That would definitely not work for me given my investment in the Marketplace.
