Last night I had a truly bothersome flight with the FBW A32NX. In particular, repetitive AP disconnects. The workaround for this has been to increase the deadzone for all axis. I’m currently set at 22% across the board. My question is this: When do we eliminate the bandaid and fix the issue?
As for the flight itself, it was OK. I performed a manual approach following the ILS - 36 -X approach plate and successfully landed on the runway (and stayed on the runway). I almost elected to go around due to the “float” caused by the optical illusion created by the dual slope of the runway.
One other thing. Am I the only one without any parking spots at MPTO Airport? It is the primary international airport for Panama.
well, guess this is more a matter of your equimpment than the programming. i have deadzones at around 3% over nearly all axis and didn´t got a problem with AP disconnects.
the best way to deal with the dead zone issue is to buy FSUIPC and tick the boxes “Eliminate Control Spikes”
I have my dead zones at 0 and no issues. You may not even have to buy it! I cant remember
If you need 22% deadzone, you need a new hardware because your hardware wobbles too much that it keeps giving inputs into the sim which disconnects your AP.
There’s also this issue too. Even on brand new TCA sidestick, there’s an issue where the sensor for the twist axis is being moved on its own due to the placement of the wiring inside the sidestick.
I fixed mine by following this topic and I stopped getting the rudder twitching on its own which can disegage AP and made rudder control too difficult.
