Description of the issue: Runway and taxi lights have a “halo” like appearance and contain sprites that are too large, even at a few meters away. The lights also miss direction. Even though the correct light structures are modeled, it doesn’t matter since the sprites are so big that they look like random blobs.
City lights also lack variety in color and are almost always a little too yellow. And if you zoom out, the sprites appear a little too large, as if every street light is a full-on beacon.
Clouds in rural areas without light are too bright.
We are really grateful that the team fixed the sepia mask, but there is still a lot of work to be done on night lighting. After all, the goal is to make the most realistic flight simulator, right?
Coordinate or location of issue: Any runway and taxiway—also, cities in general.

The runway lights sprites are too big and have a “halo” effect even at such a close distance. One way to remedy it is to remove the sprite itself and just have a light source that carries.
How taxi way lights should be (note that the bloom is slightly high).
In Flytampa’s sceneries, they have bypassed the default taxiway light sprites and inserted their own (which are correct). They cannot do anything about the runway lights, though.
Clouds in the far areas where there is less light are over-illuminated. The city illumination is good, though.
Here you can see the apparent size of all the street lights. Also, the POI’s heaven-like brightness is still a bit of a problem.
A shot of San Francisco. You can see that the sprites are not that big and don’t have such a bloom look.
The street lights give off way too much light. The circle around them with the sudden cut-off is also unnatural. Light fades away in the real world.
