@StevenPearce833 I noted this mod doesn’t feature train machine sounds, is that a limitation? will your train mod have sounds?

First version will not have sounds. It’s not like you would hear a train over an aircraft engine anyway. I have some ideas for sound that might make it into the mod in future; it would be fun if the trains sound their horns at crossings.
There is no limitation, just everything must consider its performance impact vs value added.

it’s great you plan to add sounds in the future. I made the background sounds for Milltech’s Supercarrier and also created an additional sound mod for it. I think sounds are really an important part of the engagement and immersion, a feature frequently underrated IMHO

In first version there is no commuter rail, however you can still find many passenger trains around Chicago; the Amtrak Hiawathas, Illinois Zephyr, California Zephyr, Chicago - St.Louis, Hoosier State, City of New Orleans, Blue Water and Lake Shore Limited and more are passing thru.

Ugg darn. Add it to the list if items I & other console users can’t use. Why does Microsobo make things so difficult for developers. They could really align the platforms more so there’s really not much discrepancy vs now where the user experiences are quite different based on hardware models.
Microsobo could decide to add trains in fs2024 by default, that would take care of it.
In theory that is how it should work; the whole point of WASM is that it’s cross platform.
Found the issue. It works on Xbox if you restart the game after installing it: New aircraft SimObject not insertable until sim restart - SimConnect - MSFS DevSupport
So, PC release tomorrow, Xbox release soon after.
