Do they ask for specs in the application? I really hope they select testers with different systems. We have seen users with 10900K CPUs and RTX 3090 GPUs have issues that older systems aren’t having and vice versa. There are many reports of commonality amongst systems with different bugs as well.
I’m all for this beta testing.
However, I question launching it 2 weeks before the update is due to launch. When exactly are they going to have time to fix bugs reported by the testers? It took them 3 weeks to release the “hotfix” for the last busted update. How do they expect to do this properly with this kind of time frame?

That is correct, but I think there are at least several of us forum regulars on it to do some thorough testing
(good thing I’m still on flexi-furlough!)
Although there’s also going to be a fair number of those that are just the impatient kiddies that want the latest and (questionably) greatest before anyone else. It’s unfortunate there wasn’t a little more of a selection criteria to keep a wide cross-section of the community as testers, but to have people that are serious about wanting to test it and report back.
Did you make it into the 300 Crunch?
My guess is they are testing two things:
First - obvious “in your face” showstopping bugs that would stop them launching WU4 as planned - the focus of the testing is on performance and stability - so I think they are looking for CTDs and poor FPS/stutters. If anything major comes out of it, I expect they will delay the WU4 release
Second - I think this is a trial run of the beta testing capability - makes sense - let’s do a quick test with a small number of people to prove we can run two versions simultaneously in live
I would expect future tests to be bigger and longer - but it makes sense to me to keep this one small and controlled to test they can do it

I didn’t want to be in on it. It’s just too disruptive to my system. And I wouldn’t have been able to anyway as I’m on Steam.

I was much more impressed by the way the FLY_BY_WIRE team are “selecting” those to Beta Test their work product, which in itself make the Asobo Beta Team seem less than “Optimum”.
I wish all those helping to Beta test, that they have a worthwhile, enjoyable experience, and will be allowed to “Make a Difference”.

I’m on steam too, but I can use xbox game pass for the beta and have both versions installed (steam live version on one drive, Ms store beta on the other)

Ouch…there is, and going to be a lot of bitterness and jealousy, that certain people in this thread should of been chosen for the beta. “Had 30 years experience as a dev” 
However sure the beta testers will do their best..there are a couple non bias and dedicated to the sim already. sooo have faith
Makes sense that this is a test of the beta process itself. You wouldn’t want to have 3000 people sign up and then it all falls over.
I hesitated a lot before signing up because I’m afraid the beta might just break everything and lead to multiple reinstalls. I have fast internet so I went for it.. but I almost didn’t.

I’m trying to understand how you surmised that I don’t want them to when I didn’t insinuate such a thing. I’m glad they are trying again. The response I made to you was that you are seeing it as ANYTHING that Asobo does is not good and that simply is NOT TRUE nor do people say that. It is HOW they go about what they are doing or WHAT they are focusing on or not is the issue, NOT that they do something no matter what is all I was trying to correct with your ■■■■■■ if they do philosiphy.
