→ if issue come back remove 50% of them to see in wich part it is,
→ if issue doesn’t come back you can bring back 50% of the remaining mods and keep doing this until you identify wich part of mods conflict and then isolate the mod 
sound very hard, I know it s time consuming, but you can do this at your rythme and start with your favourite mods

Yep, that’ll be the fun part. I’m crossing my fingers that the one I already have my eye on is the culprit. That’d make things a looooot easier 
2h later… I emptied my Community folder, added everything back in and… the problem has mysteriously disappeared. I now think that maybe the latest SU (haven’t flown the 208 since then) and/or the WU have changed something in the innards of the sim that made a re-initalization of the Caravan necessary. I’ll examine further during the next weeks (I’m on holiday - yay!) and if I find out something of substance, I’ll report back.

Back to square one - I did a flight from Catalina to L.A., finishing in an ILS approach. So far - so good. I then intended to create a flight from KLAX to KSFO and guess what? I’m stuck in VOR mode even if everything else is set to GPS. I’ll now install the WT mods and see if they are any remedy.
Same flight, this time using the WT 530/430 add-on. This time, the AP works fine but the prepared flight isn’t taken over from the world map into the GPS. Oh well… No user points for me then and Fly-in Fridays just got a lot harder.
No wtt addons at all, yes gps was set, tried again today, still the same, just refuses to pick up the gps course, ive tried using heading mode and coming into it from different angles with nav showing armed but it just flys straight through
I guess you will have to slowly redo the process without bringing back everything at once
did you tried with only the BS C208 and avionics folder in community folder ? isn’t your panel (HSI source) set to RNAV ?
I think you misunderstood - I didn’t go in with full force but checked the GPS mode after about 10-20 addons at a time, and everything worked like a charm. When I first noticed the problem, it was in NAV mode right from the start…
I think I’ll try the blank plane once more and do the flight described yesterday. I also got a PN with a good idea I want to test.
Edit 2: Maybe I shall reinstall the Caravan. It feels like there is some leftover from old versions in my system:
- New custom implementation of the KAP140 Autopilot. The previously recommended mod presented an incompatibility with the TDS GTN 750 after Sim Update 10 that resulted in modes getting stuck, and altitude hold mode failing to maintain altitude. No autopilot mod is required or recommended for the Analog Caravan any more. Existing autopilot mods installed in the Community folder can remain installed without affecting the Analog Caravan. Instructions on adding the 3rd party KAP140 mod have been removed from this manual. See the updated KAP 140 Autopilot section of this manual for instructions on use.

oh my bad , just woke up, about flp with WT GNS530 package, there is no cross filling with sim flp, you have to enter by hand (I think you can use the Keyboard input with to avoid playing with knobs)

No worries. Seems like we’re in the same timezone then
APR mode on, having captured the LOC for 25R in both instances. AP guided me down to the Runway. Only difference is that WITOUT WT mod, I can’t get out of NAV mode and WITH WT mod I can set up a -D-> to KSFO and have GPS mode enable properly.
you should be able to switch the cdi souce no matter if a flight plan is filled or a destination is set 
when you said without WT, you mean with the “classic” pms50 gns530 ? did you tried with the gtn750 ?
PS : if you don’t have gps installed it s normal to be stuck in nav mod
I made a short video to show how it works on my end I made some tried, as I earlier stated with WT gns530 be aware that the 430 unit will act totally indepedently and will not be able to use its gps function that is a WT limitation if you decide to keep running the WT I recommend to update the gtn750 and install this little fix to prevent gtn boot issue → WT GNS530 Compatibility edit : just noticed your statement about TDS … dumb me totally occulted to ask you about wich gtn package were you using ! then I stay nearby if you notice anything else, goodluck

I don’t have any of the pms variants installed as I believe to have read they’re not explicitly recommended any more.
There is a 530/430 in the AAUs and one additional addon on the marketplace (to which I refer when I speak of the WT mod).
On my panel, there is of course the 530 installed.
As I said earlier, I’m at this moment trying to replicate the same flight I did yesterday with only
Observation: Now I seem to be stuck in GPS mode. However, I’m not established on the localizer yet, so that might play into it.

I guess it can’t be livery related, sound good to try with, the enhancement panel works fine on my end too

GTN.750 by pms50 as it s free is still recommended I guess it may be usefull to have it installed unless you have a TDS subscription. having missing gps unit maybe lead to load issue… I guess*
No, I don’t have a TDS subscription. And I also fail to see how the 750 comes into play now when I want to use the 530W? Does it provide some kind of backbone to the 530? I can try it nevertheless…
I’m now on the ground and as yesterday, I am unable to go out of VOR mode and back into GPS.
As you can see, I have selected GPS as CDI source but the plane still enforces VOR.
And I’d say it’s independent of the AP as well.
no they are not related, and WT use their own codes,
just the aircraft is loading all units, even if they remain hidden, that was just a thought to try to have closer configuration to exclud any mismatching factor as an issue

personnally few* times I have seen the external camera source being kinda buggy aswell and doesn’t displaying the right source , don’t mind focus more on the HSI and KAP140
Given the plane doesn’t do what I want it to and the exterior compass giving me the same vibes in 100% of the times, I’ll stick to that now.
Additional observation in that field: When I am flying my GPS track, the AP correctly states GPS - once on the ground loading the next destination, I’m - once more - greeted by NAV. I’m inclined to rule out a faulty GUI at the moment.

yeah I see… I never had issues when entering new flight plan on ground … that s curious your, is getting so much hiccups

with only gns530 by WT I have not been able to reproduce your issue of being stuck in nav mod once on ground, cdi correctly stay tune to gps and swap easly to vor vice versa (note if you have been using an approach, the gps will automatically swap to vloc wich is nav thought, I didn’t flew that much approach recently, I may be wrong)
It looks like you are not running the WT GNS530 here but the stock Asobo one.
You should install the WT GNS530 additional package from the marketplace.
If using the GTN750, install the latest version an install the WTT additional package for the caravan too.
