You guys that get as far as actually doing anything in Career Mode are way ahead of me. For me it crashed on selecting training airport for first 4 days. Today, day 6, after waiting 10 minutes for the basic sim to load, I got into Career Mode as far as some simple view of the airport I selected, from the ground, then nothing happened so after 10 minutes I gave up. But it’s been interesting to read your experiences since that’s all have to go on, for now.
i am getting this issue often too. need to restart sim to fix. frustrating..
My new owned heli got 2 times instant smashed today - no money, reputation and motivation left.
This happened to me evertime I did my Jet engine cert it would crash straight away but now my game works like a dream been on it 3 days without a single crash.
Career Mode is progressing nicely. Instrument Certification done today. Means I can press ahead with something that has a little more beef than a C172. 
The game is soo much fun when it’s not crashing on you.
It totally is. Do you have any ideas to why it’s crashing for you?
Oh one caution, try to avoid the Bonanza right now or if you have to fly it, never use the flaps. They constantly pull the overspeed warning even if on the ground at 1kt. Oh and make sure to just turn all the lights on as a habit, even in the day time.
Have you tried the old uninstall/reinstall?
Is there something besides the broken Bonanza flaps that I somehow missed? I’ve had the high-perf endorsement for a while and haven’t noticed any issues besides that one aircraft
Not sure but if you use a VPN and get a dedicated IP and set it to United States it seems to play like gold no crashes for me so far but as stated by loads of people the devs don’t have the server capacity to handle alot of people but they are working on this currently, but it could be a number of things that causes the crash but getting a VPN worked for me so far.
Any recommendations on how to fix career mode not loading anything other than 1 star photo flights. Have been doing 3 start VIP’s and aeromed and suddenly
Stuck in infinite loading, can back out, and have left it for 5 minutes and just sits. Reset everything from router up.
Career mode has become unplayable for me. Some bugs I’m encountering:
- In cargo missions there is a random chance that you will be disconnected in mid-flight and thrown into the menu. I have lost more than 5 hours because of this bug.
- Unable to refuel the plane. You always start with 44% fuel. This amount is insufficient for longer missions.
- Wind and turbulence make the career mode unplayable.
- Some crashes on tornado or first VIP mission ruin your reputation/game time
- Passive income is not balanced at all
- There are no night missions and the real weather only works for a few minutes in very few missions
- Your plane can crash when you skip any part of the mission. Helicopters can crash before you even start a mission causing you to lose ALL the money you have.
- Insurance does not work properly and sometimes not even billed correctly.
- Some aircraft spawn without fuel, making them impossible to use.
I really want to fly, but I’m not going to touch it until they fix the bugs that are RUINING my game.
Your frustration is understandable, taking time off until they fix things sounds like a sane plan.
However not flying at 2300UTC and not having live time turned on before selecting a mission appears to reduce chances of being thrown out of a mission.
Binding a key (e.g. Ctrl+Insert) to ADD FUEL allows one to fly with fuel. NOT REFUEL AND REPAIR, that one will crash your mission.
Wind and turbulence… easiest workaround is don’t take IFR certification, if you already have it there is a published workaround where you enable live weather in the setting, enter mission selection screen and then disable it in the settings before accepting the mission.
Tornado and VIP missions… don’t take them. I did the pregen medivac mission after it and got near perfect marks by just never tilting by more than 10 degrees in any direction and landing very smoothly, it boosted my rep from D back to S (since passive income seems to be rating influenced I am now somewhat disinsentivised from flying as more collisions with taxiway trees will only tank my rating and reduce my passive income).
Passive income - Is apparently based on how many hours you fly in career mode the day before. For 2 AI cessnas that I have it gives me I think about 1/3 of the profit I got the day before. Be sure to use lowest insurance level possible for it all not to be eaten by the insurance.
Night missions - Yeah, don’t exist. I did once get a mission that lasted until it was dark, but it was just the once.
Helicopters crash on spawn - I can’t get rotorcraft working at all at the moment, so cannot comment. I hope they fix it eventually as I’d like to try them..
Plane crash on skip - Skipping is a big gamble - I only ever skip when not skipping will 100% destroy the plane. Experiment with changing the sim rate instead of skipping, it may result in a similar effect.
Insurance - completely 100% broken. Don’t insure anything, it is a complete waste of money. Just have enough money in the bank to pay for whatever you lose instead.
Spawning without fuel - ADD FUEL workaround above will work for this also.
Yeah, the current state is pretty awful - the above workarounds alleviate some worst aspects of it, but it is still quite bad for something that is supposed to be a finished product.

I’m taking it that previous posters who aren’t seeing night missions have moved the time on the map, to a non-daylight time, and are still not seeing those missions?
Correct. The slider is for historical weather conditions, not time of day conditions.
I must have misunderstood then, as I’d taken it that the available missions would change in line with the time of day.
I believe it to be a bug, as my understanding is the time of day should also change. If it is not a bug it is a very poorly understood / explained feature that either way needs a rework.
The slider appears after you pass IFR test, not the night flying test, which may be why it is currently the way it is.
Dodging millions of bugs is a meta game in itself in Career Mode.
