Cessna 172 Reims Rocket / Hawk XP II (freeware)

I’m pretty sure this is the same as being “derated to 195 HP”. I do believe the “derated” part pertains to the HP available while in continuous operation.

working on comstack variant with GNS430

Of course, it will be available in taildragger and bushkit too

Gave this a try, everything was fine, got some altitude & the engine died. Now I can’t get it started. Any tips?

have you leaned the aircraft in altitude ? Maybe the mixture is wrong when you tried to restart.

Sorry I should have said it won’t start even on a new flight, or restart of the game. Also if I choose a flight where engine should be running, it’s not. I even tried a new download. The 3 blade plane works fine.

so which one has a problem ?
have you got the usual all blank instruments (and empty book) : that’s the race condition bug I’ve trying to catch for almost 2 years.
Have you got power in the plane when turning on battery ?
Is the prop turning when initiating ?

2 blade prop, forgot about the float plane, that works.

No problem there

Yes

Is the prop turning when initiating ?

Yes

No worries, I’ll most likely be moving on to 20224. Nice mod though, I’ll be getting it again, thanks.

If you got power and the prop is turning, maybe you miss fuel ?

Have you check gauges in the plane and / or fuel page from MSFS ?

well 20224 is far from us

And concerning 2024, I wouldn’t rush the jump : there will be a delay for all our planes to be converted to 2024 : I’ve seen in the previous very short user alpha, that I will have to redo some materials (windshields), all the instruments, probably all the lights. If it is limited to this, multiplied by my mod number, reported to my shrinking available free time, this may report…

The major problem being we will lack the access to the default planes if they are streamed, and will rely on the sdk doc only (all the things I checked yesterday were marked as “todo”)

BTW don’t forget the fuel quantity is saved if you chose the state saving. So if you left the plane empty, you’ll find it empty at the next loading.

TESTED right now : the 2blade prop version is ok for me, at ramp or at parking, I can start the engine.

That’s is when the Darkstar appears in the Very Vintage category.

If that’s the case, I’ll let you know. Again thanks for mod.

Yep no fuel, I didn’t check the fuel because usually starting off with a new plane it has gas, this one had just enough for take off, plus a few thousand feet.

You can disable state saving if you want to have the plane in common startup conditions

Update with GNS430 is here and also with another unit I really love : the KLN90b. The mod is free for msfs2020 : GitHub - falcon71/kln90b: KLN 90B for MSFS
Try it, it’s really nice and not that hard.

I had to remove the DME from the stack (no more room) in the WT430 config…

I also rolled back to KAP140 from Asobo : the PMS50 mod depends too much of the GPS code part and can’t be used that easily with different units (at least when you give choice in the same 3D model).

Enjoy this one !

There is something wrong with the artificial horizon (G5) for straight and level flight it shows a slight nose-up attitude - that should not be like that. (The conventional one seems okay. BTW you could also let the suction gauge disappear or show a 0 reading once two G5 are installed, you would probably deinstall the vacuum pump in that case)

I’ll check that, thank you for the report.

Good idea with the suction gauge ! Deinstalling the circuit is not possible for the same plane in msfs2020, but we can cut it. The other solution is to have plane variants (in hangar), but I avoid this as much as possible

Some reading here about G5 IRL

Interesting
It looks like we have the exact IRL situation : One of the first modification I made on the plane to reflect real settings was the angle at rest, and it’s about 3°.

Hi - May anyone help me on this issue? I cannot use in any way the tablet with Sky4sim NG, although I’m running it without any problem.
Actually I cannot even take the tablet out of the pocket on the right of the cockpit…
What am I missing..? Thanks a lot A
