Crash to desktop without error message

nope  … we are now in windows 10 :joy:

Normaly the Windows Default-Setting should works fine. As some unknown reasons if the Game is running the systems needs around 32Gig at all ( which is in contrast to the requirements ).

A value 48gig is absolutly not necessary. … As often mentioned and tested as “works fine” is related to 16Gig a 4min - 20max a good choice. For 8G I would think: 8min - 25max. (or 30).

thats the blue screen of death

I downloaded the game from the microsoft store. on it it says I have met the system requirments. (I will include a screenshot its not working rn idk why)

when I open the game it says they are NOT met.

I have a msi nvidia graphics card thingy (forgot witch one)

also i have new problems it closes for some reason when updating…
i just want to give up.

I have an nvidia msi GeForce GT 710

BSOD comes (normaly) not from an application… we have to search issues with your windows and / or hardware.

starting with:

so far I remember me, is the 710 is a passive card and there exist a 1Gig and 2Gig variante.
You have at least the 2Gig variant ?

But in general: these card is far away from a minimum GTX 770. Your card is not realy made for game’ing and in special not for games like MSFS.
( this passive cooled card is interessting for other kind of usage )

Then it would be nice if you mentioned more about your other hardware, memory, cpu, harddisc ,… and which drivers you have installed.

Additional you should check your windows installation.

Please try:
1 dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
2 dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
3 Incase of error reporting: dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4 sfc /scannow
5 restart

I just got a graphics card to meet the MINIMUM requiremements.

Please try:
1 dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
2 dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
3 Incase of error reporting: dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4 sfc /scannow
5 restart

what do you mean by that

as say’d … not sure about that… There is a huge difference in GT vs GTX cards

But let us assume, the card works and the cooling of PC case is good ( note: a very important point because you own a passive cooled card ! )

Then then second step is that somewhat is possible wrong with your graphics-card drivers or your windows installation.

Therefore I mentioned the “Please try” part.

These command you must put into a “command line window” ( with admin rights )

Check the result about Error-Messages…

You can also do step 4 at first.

well ive tried everything to no avail
just upped my virtual mem to 60gb got as far as asobo logo then cdt
in all fairness we shouldnt have to be trying this trying that…it should just work as xp11 does along with other software i have

come on asobo…sort it out

can you check for us your windows event log ? what is logged ?

im assuming its event viewer logs

and the content of such an error entry ?.. Copy/Paste here ?

I’ve improved my CTDs quite a bit. Key changes: 457 drivers; XMP off; AI traffic off; Rolling Cache off

I maybe get 1 CTD every 5 flights now. My CTDs are always the same: sound stutters two or 3 times, then I’m back at the desktop.

I was hoping this would result in no CTDs at all, but I got a CTD this morning within 5 miles of my destination. It occurred when I selected the runway on the ATC menu; not sure if that caused it or not.

I’m at a loss on what else to do. I’m hoping someone (or Asobo) as an epiphany or something.

I have been reviewing the issues/solutions in this and other threads. We seem to be going over the same things multiple times.
AmbitiousPilot put together a very nice troubleshooting guide that obviously has been forgotten in the archives.

If you are experiencing CTD you NEED to read this!

Take your time and work through the guide…

Same here.
As the European skies are rather empty these days, I switched from realtime traffic to offline AI and had the dreaded CTD without error message (Exception code 0xc000000 in the event viewer) on 3 TBM flights today. All 3 had the same symptoms: after +/- 15 to 20 minutes, a couple of short sound stutters, screen freeze followed by a CTD.

Switching back to Live online traffic allowed me to finally complete a flight.

I originally thought that the crashes were related to the Ai traffic offline, but they seem to be simply a result of my system being overwhelmed. I have screwed down the claims - and lo and behold, I no longer have a crash. My system is the following: Intel core 7- 9700k CPU 3.60Hz with 32 GB RAM and an Nvidia Geforce Ttx 2070 Super graphics card - but not good enough for the Microsoft flight simulator if you want everything in ultra. ;-(

the x…005 crash in main-menu points very often to issue with your system.

As I mentioned here MSFS let run your PC at 100% also in main-menu:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/100-gpu-load-main-menu-because-background-hangar-rendering/339365

Thus… please check the existing tips ( e.g. disable xmp mode and not set manual memory timings… don’t know how often we told that within the thread  ).
Open your pc-case and see whether you can play longer, etc…

Also @willisxdc mentioned a howto thread ( POST Number 2080 ). Not all is relevant, e.g. process affinity should have no impact. If it is the case, your system is wrong configured/ faulty/ or bad cooled.

PS.: and just in case you not noticed it: empty community folder
