Maybe i’m wrong but in aircraft.cfg there’s a setting called isAirTraffic=0. Setting it to 1 maybe does the trick.
Dean, could you please estimate the next update release date ?
Hi Jack, It doesn’t work that way. Other aircraft showing up as AI (e.g. MB339) have a setting ‘isAirTraffic=0’ too.
Next update should be out by late April, lots of little changes, improved flight model from Jack and Co, improved performance in terms of FPS etc. I’m just collating requests and any minor bug fixes at the moment.
Jack’s method was the only one that I know of that activates AI traffic from a user-playable aircraft. I’m not sure what else might be needed to achieve that - it used to work just fine.
I’m desperately looking for my error. Did you use AIFP for flight planning?
I didn’t use anything. The Eagles were originally set as per Jack’s method, but I switched it to 0 as every time I loaded the Eagles up into the sim there would be F-15s parked literally everywhere. I changed the ATC parking to MIL COMBAT but even then there were often too many, so I just switched it off in the end.
I don’t know for sure, but I think AI flight plans are generated automatically by the sim.
Hi Dean, big fan of your F-15s and the official mod that runs alongside of it.
Do you plan to do any further work to the cockpit textures?
Hi, glad you’re enjoying the Eagles!
I will do further work on the cockpit textures, although I think they look quite good at the moment. I’d like to add some further modelling detail in some areas if anything. I’m intending the Tomcats to be of a much higher standard, and what I learn there can then be brought into a later Eagles update.
just bought. and wow! what can i say! you did a great job. i really enjoy it. keep up the good work! regards, walter
Thanks Walter, really good to hear you’re enjoying the Eagles! Also, best forum name choice I’ve seen yet…
First impressions of this plane is that the audio is really good and the flight model especially with the mod has a lot more depth than the other jet fighter aircraft I’ve flown in FS2020.
That said I think the asking price is a bit high considering the lack of system’s depth and graphical quality compared to other aircraft out there. Also encountered some bugs, like the canopy animation not being synced when switching to/from the outside camera (if you close the canopy while in cockpit view then switch to the outside the whole animation will play from the beginning). Also switching back and forth during the startup procedure caused certain sounds to cut out. Finally, I encountered an issue when flying at high altitude where I paused the game using the escape key, and when I unpaused the right engine died and couldn’t be restarted.
Overall the novelty of being able to get around this quickly in the world of FS2020 is still pretty great, and the high price is likely because there isn’t much competition for planes of this type at the moment. Would be nice to see a bit more polish in future updates though.
Hey @CaptainSp0rk:
At what altitude did the incident with the right engine happen to you? I would like to try to reproduce it to see where the problem may be.
It is true that I have ever intentionally turned off the engines at high altitude and had to descend to, say, 15000ft to be able to start them again.
Admins remove if not appropriate, seeing as we are in this thread because of our appreciation of this aircraft (my favourite plane ever) you may be interested in some pics of the real thing I took yesterday in the Mach Loop here in Wales… ‘The King’ 493d Squadron F-15C Heritage
Think I was really high up, like >FL450. So that might explain why it couldn’t be restarted. Can’t remember if I kept trying to fire it up again after I descended.

Very cool videos
I had to laugh recently. I accidentally selected the f15 and the airport in the current landing challenge in France - on that small grass strip on a mountain. I actually was able take off downhill, stabilize and fly around the area. Very beautiful location
Is it only my impression that the engine sound internal and external are too loud vs the other fs2020 airplanes ? i keep always same sound settings and everyone are the same when i start the f15, it’s too much loudy.
Are there any option by file settings to mod for reduce volume ?
The engine sounds are a bit too loud at the moment, I am hoping that the sound producers will have a slightly quieter version ready for the next update, due late April / Early May. As a work-around, you can turn down engine sounds in the sim’s main menu when using the F-15.
Deano, regarding updates- now that the F-15 is available through the Marketplace however I purchased it through Just Flight. Will future updates be sent e-mail notices to get patches at JF? Thanks,
