It’s taking a while to load… not sure that’s a good sign

I’ve not done a restart. Breaking with tradition. Dangerous

Just to keep things in perspective, although there seems to be people on this forum that vehemently hate the developer and think they should be defending their fraud in court, I do not believe that the pendulum swings quite so far in the other direction. I would challenge you to find any user here that has an “unconditional love” for this developer.

There are plenty of users here that have a great respect for what has been accomplished. There are users that strongly defend the developer out of an understanding for the complexities and resultant hurdles. There are users that have experienced the release, pains, adjustments and ultimate growth of this genre and as such have tempered their expectations and frustrations.

I believe that most of the perceived hostilities on this forum stem from a huge generation gap that runs from the early offerings of flight simulation through to the console generation. Games created for consoles tend to be very linear and when they say “open world” they are talking about a fictitious map that I can ride my horse across in an hour. Those titles have had bugs too. Usually fixed with quick hotfixes.

To “accurately” model the entire planet and never have to place exclusion zones would be impressive in it’s own right. To add to that a weather system that attempts to emulate what is happening outside my window is nothing short of ambitious. The old geezers here that remember doing thousands of circuits around Meigs Field have a hard time putting the developers feet to the fire because 76T has brutal frame rates. We just won’t go there then.

Yes we all get frustrated some times but perspective is an amazing thing. If you expected a polished world with fully realistic aircraft seamlessly flying through perfect realtime weather and flawless aerodynamics, you are far more disappointed and frustrated than the user that hoped for a handful of usable aircraft in a world with increased detail from previous versions, with a hope that the 3rd party developers will be supplying increased precision and reality. Those two users are naturally going to argue that the other is being unreasonable.

Everyone has different expectations and interpretations of what was promised. Does not mean that one hates the corporate giant and the other loves it.

Perfectly normal. MS Store always updates first. It’ll be here soon, just keep waiting.

The MS Store / Steam download is for the core engine. The in-sim download is for content. If they didn’t update content, there should be no reason for in-sim download.

What were you getting prior to the patch?

Oh nvm.. That’s at 76T.

What should the version indicate if it installed? Thnx!

No idea. I’m still at work, not at home. Someone who has it installed will be able to confirm.

I’m downloading the patch.

FS2020 just got updated.

East Coast, USA

It should be 1.14.6.0.

Still not seeing it on steam here. Even just restarted and relaunched nothing…

Fames are back but now I’m getting a hard pause every 30 seconds, consistently.

At least I can fly now…
