Warning, strange update effect!
After downloading and installing while windowed the screen went black and remained lifeless for a good two minutes, opened task manager and MSFS was listed as unresponsive but for some dumb reason I waited.
Out of nowhere, after appearing frozen for some time it just jumped back to life, into full screen and was midway through the normal splash screen.

if you for some reason change overwrite files in Asobo folder (onestore) , this could happen

Release Notes say the docs site is updated with docs and video on the VFX editor, but I cannot find anything. The VFX editor page in the docs say “COMING IN A FUTURE UPDATE”.

Does the download start again each time ? Could be repeater / download loop issue.. try this
Disable Auto-tuning
- In the Windows search bar, type Command and look for ‘Command Prompt’
- In the menu select “Run as administrator”
- Enter: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter
- Reboot your computer

Has the LOD for the trees been fixed. Didn’t see anything about it in the release notes. Update feels like it was overhyped not much to see here unless you were really looking forward to the turboprop updates.

This is weird, the update gets stuck when it tries to update some stock planes: first the vl-3, then the cj-4, the icon-a5 … I have had to close the game each time and delete the directories of each aircraft so that it could continue updating … in the end I have had to delete all of them and convert a 3gb update to a 9gb one. But it’s been done …

Restarted and its working now. Have not seen the added AI contrails yet, but will wait and see.

Its just the download size. The main game is still 130ish gb’s large in size.
A special thanks for spicing up and adding additional animations to the ugliest screen we ultra wide and multi monitor users have the misfortune of starting their Sim experience with!
