Edinburgh EGPH released

Solved it :+1: as usual someone else’s problem, I just needed confirmation it was just me seeing this.

I’ve been there in real life, several times. This week I clicked the market place

EGPH / Pyreegue I love it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: all that detail.. early morning,

Spectacular overview

Going inside, I recognized a few places, I remembered myself sitting there actually

… and this one, clear view of the airplanes

There’s a lot of people.. also plenty of twin brothers

Short flight with Pilatus from a near airfield EGKW, landed and parked on the apron

Is it possible to remove the static aircraft in the Marketplace version of EGPH?

It’s not, marketplace doesn’t support this yet as far as I know

Does anyone know if or when Pyreegue EGPH V2 is likely to be released?

I believe it is on finals but no date as of yet.

I just had to look this up. Their hint seems to be the ā€œPrepare for take off. Next weekā€ (Dated July 14, from facebook).
Looks great, but EGPH V1 is great already, so I’m not sure what will make me want to pay again for V2.

I imagine there’ll be a discount for existing owners. I don’t expect it for free but, at the same time, I don’t expect to have to pay another Ā£18 when I already have v1.

I got EGNX, last year, and will certainly be taking another look at their other offerings, EGPH v2 in particular.

Read and deduce what you will from their facebook page reply -

My own interpretation of that is it’s all new so it will be full price.

If so, I think I’ll be happy to stick with the (already excellent) v1. At least until a sale comes along. I don’t do a great deal of flying into or out of there so it’s certainly less appealing for me than their upcoming EGBB.

My thoughts too. V1 is still very nice. V2 from their images looks more photo real with a lot more detailling land side and in the gates (which were already quite detailled in V1). Hopefully still fps friendly as I remember that was a major concern for many with EGPH V1 back in the heyday of 2021/22 timeframe when it first released and was one of the most detailled airports at that time.

Version one is already amazing. When it first launched it set a new standard for airport detailing. I know since then there’s been this arms race amongst some airport scenery developers for greater and greater detail but this looks a lot like an update to an already great bit of scenery.

I’ll stick to the version I’ve got.

I will NOT pay full price, i’m happy with version 1 i will stick with it.
To be honest this puts me off Pyreegue, what’s next? East Midlands v2. It does astound me creators are now managing to essentially get people to buy an airport from them twice, rather than V2 i would have preferred a Gatwick or something different

I would like to see some sort of ā€œloyaltyā€ discount for v2, otherwise no rush to update since v1 is good enough for me.

While I appreciate the enormous amount of work that goes into creating a new airport almost from scratch, the customer does already have a perfectly usable version — therefore I think an upgrade fee for existing owners is more appropriate than having us fork out all over again. I suppose the flip side of the coin is that we’ve had three years’ use out of v1, which isn’t exactly poor value.

Either way, I’d much prefer to see existing users offered a discount, however small. Edinburgh isn’t an airport I use often enough to justify paying full price again, however I’d be less opposed to some sort of special upgrade price.

If there is no discount, I’ll simply wait till it goes on sale. v1 still holds up well enough today.

While this is very true i would rather spend my hard earned money on an airport i do not have than a uber version of one i do. As it has been said V1 is fabulous really no need to update unless Edinburgh is very meaningful to you personally.

That would be my preference as well, but I think it is much easier from a practical standpoint to offer a discount off of a full-priced new product. The problem with an upgrade fee is that the upgrade basically has to be sold as a separate product, because the major distributors don’t have the infrastructure to have one price apply for a certain set of customers* while others pay full price on a single product. It’s simpler and more efficient to just have one product with one price, and give out codes and such if you want to give existing owners a discount.

They could also list it at a sale price for the first few days - that’s a discount for everyone though, not just current owners, so you’re cutting into your potential revenue somewhat. But at least it gives some cost break to people who already own the product.

*Even Microsoft - the reduced price for official legends/fliers that premium deluxe edition owners get is done via a discount, not a different price.

And you sure as hell will have to buy all of them for a third time when they release their updated v3 for MSFS2024 by the end of the year.

Its for this reason that I stopped buying new bits of scenery for FS2020 months ago. A lot of developers are going to want to charge full whack again for the new version of the sim. Its pretty obvious they will because its all about making money at the end of the day.
