On a recent flight I was watching a recorded livestream of a pilot flying the Fenix A320 for a couple of hours (what better to do while on an airliner than watching someone else fly a pretend airliner?). I was a bit drowsy and started to drift off then all of a sudden the “Bank angle” warning came on loud and clear. That startled me awake and for about half a second my brain actually thought it was real and it freaked me out!
Try watching Air Crash Investigation or Mayday! while flying.
Pro tip:
Make sure the person sitting next to you can see the screen!

One of the more unique experiences i had was the 2nd to last time i flew.
Natural fear of heights and being in a plane doesn’t help. But during this time i had fallen in love with aviation(thanks to the sim).
Days before my flight id have yt recommend aviation videos and i stumbled upon crash stories. Simple stuff like one little screw being barely incorrect size almost took out an entire plane. Another story the pilot accidentally forgot to press the oxygen button and everyone passed out and died.
So im on a plane, never before was i so nervous and so excited. I remember wanting to look out the window, and not wanting to look out the window. It was really weird to be so nervous and excited, and it be the same thing.
Wait, was this the joke? That sounds more like one of those Tik Tok sensationalist videos, because that’s not how it works. XD
No, not a joke.
Look up “Ghost Plane” on YouTube. There was an episode about a Helios Airlines plane that was discovered circling Athens, the default action of the plane’s autopilot after the flight plan ended.
They tried to figure out how to get the plane down, no luck, so they tried to get it away from populated areas.
Eventually it ran out of fuel and crashed in an uninhibited area with no survivors. When they examined the bodies, it was determined that they had died in-flight due to suffocation.
The post-crash investigation determined that the pilots screwed up their checklist and didn’t notice the “automatic pressurization” switch was set to manual. This resulted in mass hypoxia and eventually everyone died due to the lack of oxygen.
Ok, after looking into it, it makes more sense. From the original mention, my thought was that the oxygen masks should have deployed and and pilots also having their own oxygen supply. It wasn’t simply forgetting to set the pressurization to auto, but that the pilots then ignored the warnings thinking it was something else.
My initial thought was wondering why, if pressurization failed, did the supplemental oxygen system not work while getting to a lower altitude. All the Swiss cheese holes lined up on that one.
I fail to see the problem here.
Not really a MEME, but a pretty Unique event in MSFS.
4 ground crew actually paying attention to my parked plane, and looking at it, as opposed to having their backs to it , or walking into the prop, when I starts the engine.
Maybe word got out, and they all came to admire the WB-SIM C172 !!!
When I see them near my plane they get really near the prop. Seems they trust I know what I’m doing.
Those watching your plane rather seem scared. ![]()
You seem to have found the U.S. ICE mode! They’re just waiting to talk with you about that flight into country XXX!! Keep your hands in plain sight at all times until you get out! ![]()
In Starfield it’s not any different, the technicians standing by the ship die every time I take off.
