I have been a gamer and a simmer for as long as I can remember. I have had PCs’s ranging from apple IIc’s to the latest intel pc’s. I have overclocked cpu’s video cards every possible thing on my pc’s.
I learned that flight sims, any of them, MSFS, P3D, Xplane will all bring your pc to its knees. If you have an unstable system this is the best way to test it, run a flightsim.
So all in all maybe some of you who are having constant CTD have overclocked systems. Maybe a GPU or CPU overclock or both. Remove your overclock and try again maybe this will fix it.

Forward: I know that 60 FPS is a silly goal…my system can run a solid 30 with no problems at all with everything on Ultra…but…60 just feels soooooo good.
I’m curious about overclocking. Currently running an i7-10700K at 5.3Ghz and solid as a rock. It’s on an MSI Z490 Gaming Plus MOBO, with an EVGA 360 AIO cooler. HT is off, and it runs very well. Temps never get above 65C and average around 54-55C. The weird thing is, I’ll find myself CPU bound in situations where I wasn’t before with a 4790 at…
I’m just curious as I see people saying they get CTDs all the time. I do get them too but it is rare. Out of curiousity, for those who are getting frequent CTDs, are you overclocking or undervolting? I just want to establish a pattern as I believe much of the CTDs are related to people undervolting or overclocking. Other possibility is running diagnostics in the background such as HWmonitor or MSI Afterburner etc.
Anyone who is not getting CTDs…I assume you are not undervolting, overclockin…
Hi all. I built a new pc this year for both work and play and I am very happy with it’s performance in FS, but I’m also curious to see if I can make it work any better. Specs are: i7 11700k with a Corsair AIO 240mm cooler on a Gigabyte z590 Aorus Pro AX motherboard, 32GB of Vengeance 3600 RAM, 1TB Corsair M2 NVME ssd for the OS and FS, plus a 2TB Samsung SATA SSD for anything else. The GPU is a Gigabyte RTX 3060 Gaming OC and the PSU is a Seasonic Prime 750w gold, all sitting in a Be Quiet Pure …
Recent upgrade to Intel i9-11900K CPU, ROG Maximus XIII Hero MB, 32GB Ram, RTX3090 GPU. I am aware of the CTD’s with some add-on’s in the community folder. Not using Developer mode. Latest FS2020 build and ALL drivers updated. Latest Win 10. The system arrived already overclocked, FS2020 completely shut down the system, blue screen of death, and re-started! The PC Supplier helped me to reduce the OC to minimum, about 10-15% OC. Again FS2020 shuts the system down! NO OC, and the CPU has to ru…
