I’ve used the dlss swapper app to upgrade to the latest dlss file and also done the frame gen mod. I’ve then done the latest info to get rid of the ghosting on the dlss and changed the user config file and made the secondary monito x2.00 from x1.00 and its helped and still getting great fps.
BIOS Settings:
Latest Drivers from MSI
HAGS on
Game mode On
Re-Sizable Bar On
XMP 1 On for Ram but running 4 sticks caused instability so turned it down
to 3400MHZ and now it runs fine.
All Drivers up to date using Driver Updater and CC Cleaner.
Sat on the ramp in the Fenix with pyregue EGPH v2 BATC traffic and GSX and still getting 75-85FPS.
The DDU and re-install was definitely the answer for me. Just hope it may help some others.

Im on a 4080 in 4k (5120x1440), 7900x3d, 64gb ram.
Its running silk smooth, much better than 2020.
But, a big BUT, I tune down settings so I make sure to never exceed Vram (or Ram) limit.
PC gamers always crave for games that will push the hardware limits. This game does it. That means even a 4090 might have to reduce settings, bcs of cpu/ram etc.
First: reduce texture resolution to Med/High(or even low for low-end systems), reduce trees (don’t use ultra), vehicles, rocks, might turn off ray tracing, TloD max 200(100) etc etc.
Tune settings to never exceed vram (or ram) limit; then the game will tank!
Load in with Fenix at a demanding airport, insert TFC if you use it and tune from there.
Seems like many here are using (f.ex.) 14,6GB out of 14,0GB Vram, or 33,5GB out of 32,0GB ram and wonder why it stutters…
And it still happens, and now the sim looks worse than 2020 with these settings.
In 2020 i was able to run everything ultra including texture resolution and came nowhere near max VRAM usage.
That cannot be intended. Also it doesn’t seem very useful to come here in a bug report topic and tell people with problems that they don’t have a problem, especially since everyone has other hardware.
With all due respect, someone with a 4080 super should NOT have to lower their graphics settings to low/medium in order not the run out of VRAM. Especially not when the minimum listed spec is a GTX970 with 4GB and the recommended spec is an RTX2080 with 8GB. Let’s not excuse bad optimization with ”lower your settings”. You’re just feeding the ”hardware limitation” conclusions. There is something very wrong here.
so… ideal spec is for what? 1080p @ 30fps? all settings on low and 10TLOD ?
Whats the point of having system requirements if they dont list what the resolution and fps should expect.
also, they sold us the idea that this sim would be better optimized, leading most of us to believe that we would be able to have at least same settings with at least the same or even better results.
I didnt bother to watch the Q&A stream, cause im not interested in being lied to/marketing talk, but from what I could understand the answer was basically “get better hardware”?
@HohleFritte2583
Post is: 15360x2880 , now thats heavy. But on the positive side, your CPU seems to do ok-ish.
Yeah. But ppl dont posts their settings or resolutions, so its impossible to judge if their high vram usage is expected or a bug.
All I know dx12 ms2020 was even worse on vram usage. But I still have to tune down stuff, a lot of stuff, on my 4080 in 2024. It still looks awesome.
If there is a Vram bug - that is of course not good. But I dont see it, and 2024 behaves much like 2020(dx12), although better, and much as I would expect.
With all due respect, if you have to reduce some settings with a 4080Super, thats totally plausible.
Whats your resolution? Ultra texture resolution is just a Vram hog with no visible difference, TloD setting? Whats your cpu? Ram? Ray tracing another hastily included setting…
No, you cant run EVERYTHING on Ultra even with a 4080Super.
No. Let’s not forget what is actually advertised and also confirmed in a developer stream.
Minimum spec: GTX970 with 4GB of VRAM at 1080p, low preset, with 70% render scale should give you 30fps.
Recommended spec, RTX2080 with 8GB of VRAM at 1440p, high-end preset, with 100% render scale should give you 30fps.
Ideal specs, RTX4080 with 12GB of VRAM at 4K, ultra preset, with 100% render scale should give you 30fps (devs commented on this saying that they are consistently getting 40-50fps which is even better than the 30fps target).
Good luck to anyone with a RTX2080 8GB at 1440p being able to play at the high end preset. Or someone with a RTX4080 12GB being able to play at 4K ultra without running out of VRAM. So before you say to lower your settings or that it is a hardware limitation, please refer to this. If this isn’t fixed it’s grounds for false advertisement. I am one of many who cannot use the sim in its current condition.
Yeah. Thats strange.
Have you tried resetting all to Low, then increase settings?
I too ‘hope’ there is a Vram bug. But as of now I dont see it. But ppl who ran 2020 in dx11 is up for a surprise. I ran 2020 in dx12 and got used to tweak settings, and 2024 behaves much the same way as dx12-2020, although better…
I have always taken the Recommended etc specs in a game with a grain of salt. Actually never looked at it.
It doesn’t even specify resolution. 4k vs 1080 is a totally different ball-game.
I guess min spec you could run the game at 1080p on minimum settings. Thats all I can get out of it.
I know much better what my system is capable of than some generic recommendation…
4080 got 16gb vram. And you xan run it in 4k. But you have to reduce different settings for optimal performance.
You folks are missing the point.
The point is that FS2024 is filling-up the shared RAM with unused garbage, and isn’t purging it, even if you quit the mission to the world map!
Those with a 24GB GPU can maybe not be affected by having this garbage in their VRAM or shared RAM. But that doesn’t mean that shouldn’t be fixed!
Did you not read what I wrote? The resolutions and frame rate targets where confirmed in the developer stream by Asobo themselves. Enjoy your low settings all you want but don’t reduce this to a non-existing problem. There are people like myself who can’t even enjoy the sim with low settings because of this issue. We consistently run out of vram which grinds fps to a halt.
