FS2024 - How to remove blue boxes in career mode

How do you remove the blue boxes and markers in the air, it is such a realism killer?

And also I would like to remove the purple boxes in the MFD for the G1000.

Not positive, but i think i saw an option to use legacy(2020)
Mouse interactions.

I think he’s referring to the navaids
 The boxes you fly thru.

I’m looking for how to turn off the blue highlighting on cockpit interactions. It was annoying in 2020, and it’s annoying now. I can’t remember how I turned it off before

On Xbox, you have to press Left Stick. On PC, i don’t know.

Awesome, thank you for this!

Why on earth is the taxi ribbon linked to the navigation aids? The former is a necessity, the latter an irritation.

They should be separate toggles.

That’s not really a solution. By doing that you lose the waypoint markers as well.

And what about the magenta boxes in the G1000? Is that a standard IRL? Never seen them before in MSFS. Anyone knows if they can be removed?

They are the same boxes which you deactivate by pressing L. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to deactivate them too.

Actual G1000 feature

Thanks. And do you know if it can be deactivated?

I do
go in to ---->PFD Opt---->SVT---->Pathways = on/off

Does no one ever just explore the buttons on the pfd or mfd.
You’ll be amazed with & what you’ll find!

Working Tittle stuff is AAAA
class and if it’s possible to do, they have it covered.

“Toggle Taxi Ribbon”

(I presume you realise this toggles both the taxi ribbon and the blue boxes.)

Yes, that’s what I have to toggle off when in the air, and back on when taxiing, but it’s still immersion-breaking seeing the blue boxes from the ground while taxiing.

In FS2020, the taxi ribbon could be left on permanently, so that when I landed the required exit would be indicated. In FS2024 it is an extra task I have to do during the landing sequence, something I could do without given the other tasks I’m trying to complete at the same time.

And it is yet another work-around necessary for something which should be automatic. It is really annoying the number of work-arounds I have to use in VR just to get a simple flight completed. (“Ready to fly” missing, toolbar missing, mouse stopped working, not all controls functional in VR etc.)

Personally, I would ask them to change a lot more. We should have a ‘pro’ career version where the only objective points we have are mission points and none of these silly hold-short markers and other stuff. I want to manage my own flight and not feel like I have to follow the mission guidance aside from the end objective.

Agree, it is a workaround. The corresponding report is bug-logged so it should be fixed: Can't disable flight path assist (blue gates)

Here’s how I get rid of the blue boxes in free flight.

Please note: If having the flight plan showing on the EFB is important to you it’ll depend on whether the EFB in the aircraft you’re using can load the flight plan form the avionics.

On the EFB flight plan page:

  1. Hit reset
  2. Select File with ATC (Blue boxes should disappear)
  3. Load FP from Avionics (This is the part that might not work depending on the aircraft)

ATC continues to “work” after this, based on the original flight plan.

Hope this helps.

Agree that there should be levels to the career mode and “hold short” should be less sensitive to the actual millimeter of position that you are holding at. I have had the sim tell me numerous times that I needed clearance to enter the runway when I decided to follow the blue taxi clearance. Then I restarted the mission and taxied along a reasonable route on the taxi route system away from the back track of the runway that the sim gave me and I was not given a penalty. Frustrating really but
.. in my opinion Flight Sim enthusiasts are likely the hardest on DEV’s for reality and realistic based elements. But
there are a number of great ‘game’ like experiences in this sim which are light years beyond anything int he past. The visuals are phenomenal, I have decided to reduce my expectations and just enjoy it for what it is
