I’m using gsx and only get 1 marshaller (the gsx one). What i did was went into each aircraft.cfg file for all my payware aircraft , went down to the settings inside the cfg file that show pushback_tug, jetway, boarding-ramp, fuel_truck etc …and changed marshaller =1 to marshaller=0 , that way it turns off the msfs default marshaller . Works like a charm
Thanks for the explanation - looking forward to this feature.
Another thought though, currently if I load a very empty flight - let’s say 20 passengers onto an A320 simulating a VIP flight for example, I still see 3 full baggage carts of luggage being loaded and it takes ages to complete. Is there any way to more realistically tie the amount of bags loaded to number of passengers loaded? At the moment whatever amount of passengers there are and no matter what the circumstances, there are always 3 full baggage carts of luggage.
Thanks
Andy
Okay well that’s weird - for Monday’s flight (where I had duplicate marshallers) I didn’t have any interactions with MSFS ATC at all. But at least I had the on-screen numerical guidance (L/R from centerline, and distance to stop).
Yesterday’s three flights, none of the gates had VDGS indicators at any of the gates at all, no marshallers, and no on-screen numerical guidance.
Can we turn off that numerical guidance overlay? I really don’t like it, looks so out of place.
VDGS is great, or a marshaller still good. If neither of those are available then its a case of trying to guess a transit alongside the stop line and then looking out of the side window until I’ve lined up with it. Anything is better than weird floating numbers.
I would welcome separate explicit settings for the numerical overlay and for the marshaller. Ballparking it yesterday on three flight straight was a pain. I just want some kind of parking guidance after I select a gate in the GSX menu.

Quoting from GSX Manual, Page 31, the explanation of the Parking System Distance Readout in the Settings:
By default, every type of Parking System, be it a Marshaller or a VGDS, has an extra numeric readout of the lateral and longitudinal distance from the ideal parking position, that appears as large numbers over the Parking System object. This option can be used to Enable or Disable this extra readout.
I would welcome separate explicit settings for the numerical overlay and for the marshaller.
They are already separate and, in fact, don’t have anything to do with each other:
-
The " Parking System Distance Readout" in the GSX Settings is used to control if you want a numeric readout on any kind of Parking system, be it a Marshaller or a VGDS
-
What controls the appearance of any Parking system (Marshaller or VGDS), is the Airport profile, since every gate can be configured with whatever parking system needed. Without a profile, a Marshaller will be used by default, but a profile can even disable the GSX Parking system entirely, for example if the scenery already comes with its own Parking system, it IS possible to disable the GSX one entirely.
Sure, everybody would like that but, since even “AI Ships” will contribute to reaching the overall Simobject limit, it goes back to personal preferences again, what you think it’s more important to you.
Following your reasoning that, you are not prepared to renounce or reduce anything else, we can just stop adding new features now, because anything we might add to GSX could possibly increase the overall number of objects in the sim.
But that’s really a moot discussion, when I already confirmed the seated passengers CAN be disabled, GSX already has several functions to keep the number of objects under control, so you can be sure something so obvious would be highly configurable.
Thanks I will try that. The manual is good and certainly appreciated. Given the complexity of the product it’s very long though so while I’ve read chunks I’ve not yet seen it all.
I checked and I do have that set in my GSX Settings. I don’t know why I wasn’t seeing anything at KDTW, but I today at KBNA I saw this at least - the floating indicator is buried by the scenery, which is probably where the marshaller is, too. Most gates at the very busy C Terminal are like this, in fact. I didn’t look at the A, B or D terminals. Anyway, I’ve downloaded GSX profiles from Flightsim dot TO for KDTW, KBNA and a few others I don’t already have good profiles for. Maybe that will result in either visible marshallers, a VGDS, or something at these particular airports.
Assuming the profiles are well done, I’m fairly sure it should, because this is of course another thing possible through airport customization, in two different ways:
- With the Max Marshaller distance parameter in the GSX airport customization page, explained at Page 36 of the manual:
By default, the Marshaller distance it’s a function of the Parking radius specified in the airport .BGL file, and the eyepoint position in the cockpit: the higher the eyepoint, the farther away the Marshaller will be placed. The distance is lowered if there’s a jetway, on the assumption that Gate usually a wall behind, so the Marshaller might be easily hidden behind it. Sometimes, it’s possible this calculation can’t fit any situation. By setting this value to a number of meters (start with about 20 meters) you can fix situations where the Marshaller can’t be seen because he’s inside a building.
- Following the method explained in the Editing the Parking System chapter, Page 44 of the GSX Manual, which allows to set any Parking system (Marshaller or VGDS), in a precise position, instead of having a distance calculated on the eyepoint.
Both options are valid, and both can be used by you or whoever made the GSX airport profile, to prevent cases where the Marshaller can’t be seen because it’s inside a building, the first one is easier to use and more generic, the other one is more precise, but requires a bit more of effort to set all positions correctly.

I Bit the bullet last night and bought it, I be getting a Init.py issue, should I u install and reinstall
I wonder what can be done that no FSLTL plane sits on the gate I selected for arrival?
Hey I got a question have you ever had a INIT.Py error when first opening gsx

I noticed some passenger files in the update – does 2.6.4 lay some groundwork for them?

Yes, we are uploading the models as we doing them, but there’s actually no code yet to integrate them in the GSX procedures. This way, we are staggering the downloads and optimizing the bandwidth, so when the real update will come, it might be easier on the download servers.
Not unlike Starfield, which you an download now if you have GamePass, but you can’t play until September.
Hello, did you get any help yet?
Hello, is there any way to disable catering service automatically coming when using deboarding option?
Turns out I have to install it via making my non admin account admin temporarily, main reason it’s not admin in the first place is that…I’m 14…..and stupid..really stupid
