True. If I were to hypothetically put AIG into the FSLTL base folder though. There’s the SimObjects folder - but also a lot of other folders. Did you move everything over?
EDIT: I took a leap of faith and copied everything over then regenerated the layout.json. Just about to test it now.
Result: CTD after less than a minute. In fact MSFS crashed so hard it cannot be killed by task manager.
Disclaimer: I also copied SimFlea’s offline GA and the E-Jet package over. So there’s that.
How do you configure FSLTL to show the Adventum E-Jets?
Both FSLTL and E-Jets are linked to the community folder using Addons Linker (do this for everything without issue).
Do I need to move the contents of the Adventum/Simobjects/Airplanes into the corresponding location in FSLTL or is there a way to link OR should it work automatically?
I copied all subfolders from AIG to the FSLTL-base folder.
Then I regenarted the layout.json as described earlier.
Not on my PC anymore, but befire I left I was plane spotting for about 30 mins without issues and AIG models showing up.
With AIG and FSLTL in community seperately the sim always crashed instantly when “ready to fly”.
But guess it needs longer testing on various airports to make sure it really works and not me being lucky that no corrupted model/texture was injected.
Mayhe more testing later.
If not working, I can always switch back to original FSLTL as I made a backup before merging AIG into it.
It seems in the .ini files for both AIFlow and AIGround all items are disabled by default.
EDIT:
//This .ini file is not required. AIFlow will operate without this .ini
//file, instead using internal default values.
//
//However, the following parameters (DEFAULT values included) may be
//used to tweak the program.
//
//IMPORTANT: REMOVE “//” TO ACTIVATE a particular parameter for tweaking.
They appear disabled, but have a default value I think that is hard coded into the apps. The .ini file is more like an override (I think).
One thing that I find confusing is that some values are binary so say ‘0’ is disabled, ‘1’ is enabled.
Yet other parameters are ‘0’ for disabled but you can enter an actual value instead like say ‘10’ or ‘200’. I think the documentation could be clearer in this regard. Or enabled/disabled should be ‘true’ or ‘false’ etc. It’s a tad confusing not knowing this up front or maybe it’s just me.
Today for example I tried setting ‘1’ for the parameter to set landing shorter distances on runway and ‘0’ is ‘disabled’, but I didnt realise that the number could go far higher and is in seconds so not binary.
That’s how I interpret it. I’m testing the values suggested earlier in this thread. I stayed at LPPT Lisbon for a while (even did a short flight!). Now going for a quick hop from Southend to Heathrow.
EDIT: And a CTD shortly after loading into Southend. That’s with the addons back in their respective folders. I’ll try again without the AIG folder.
For those that have asked, all I did was to copy the AIGAIM folders from AIG’s SimObjects/Airplanes folder to the SimObjects/Airplanes folder under FSLTL, then removed AIG from Addons Linker. I copied the files instead of cutting them so this would be easy to back off if necessary. I did nothing with the CVT folder, but it is also no longer referenced by Addons Linker.
Also, I’m not sure if this is directly related to my lack of CTDs, but I used XnViewMP to reduce the size of the FSLTL and AIG models several days ago as described earlier in this thread. I didn’t mention it because I didn’t remember it until today.
I don’t think we have to pay much attention to the _CVT folder. Thanks for clarifying. At the moment I’m in a hold near EGLL (AIG folder deactivated for now).
Great, maybe one of the mods can sift out the AIGround and AIFlow posts on this thread to there. There will be crossover, but you can use these mods with default AI traffic too so they are not just for fsltl users.
Just now in Frankfurt EDDF, planes land correctly from the east, FSLTL sends them out from the west…wind 210/6, so no clue, why to takeoff from 07. Shortly after my first CTD with AIGround, probably because of an AIG plane.
I will now kick out all AIG planes from my community folder, except Emirates and Singapore because of their A380s.
