I think they are Embrarers
There is indeed a thread. Please take the AIGround/AIFlow discussion there. Thanks.
Using v1.2.1 of FSLTL this morning while watching traffic at EGLL and I have to say it’s working really well compared to v1.2. Not as many go arounds more normal landings and well timed departures (no initial rush of departures any more it would seem), and everything working well together including with AIGround and AIFlow.
Does anyone know if FSLTL is still going to develop native models for aircraft (using the e-jets as an example) or are some types going to be covered by pay-ware addons such as these Aventum Embraers?
Not a criticism in any way shape or form, just interested to know. Cheers.
From what I’ve read on their discord Embraers are currently actively being worked on by FSLTL devs, no release timeframe yet.
That’s great. I figured that might be the case. Good to hear this update is working well.
I’ve now pulled in the A380 AIG models and am seeing them at EGLL in FSLTL. So much better than generic. I hadn’t used AIG before so had to go through the whole AIG Manager setup and download the relevant airlines. Slowly all coming together though.
Yes they do look really good. I think I’ll just leave the whole AIG folder alongside FSLTL. That’s +40GB and will add to the load time though.
Can I just double check exactly which folders you’re copying and to where? Are you just moving the models, or the individual liveries as well (of which there are hundreds!)
I don’t want to stuff up my AIG install as I have the whole lot and it’ll take an age to re-install it all again.
ps There’s a new update coming out for AIG soon that sounds like it will make it much more user friendly.
Exactly. And that will happen by moving something out of the folder. I just keep AIG on a separate drive then make a copy of the folder into community folder and delete/move stuff from it. As long as AIG Manager point to the “complete” folder it should be fine.
I’m using the AIG Manager beta for downloading. Still seems clunky, but it works.
Basically I am -
- Downloading in AIGM all the airlines that operate the A380 (or say another aircraft type)
- Copy the AIG model directory (eg. AIGAIM_TFS_A380-800_EA which also contains the airline liveries) to {path}\Community\fsltl-traffic-base\SimObjects\Airplanes
- Run MSLayoutGenerator.exe on layout.json in {path}\Community\fsltl-traffic-base
That’s it.
The model matching is better as of v.1.2. So I think leaving the AIG folder in community should be fine. I’ve tried that before and FSLTL will pull e.g. A380s from that folder.
Reworked the ordering of model matching - 100% FSLTL real livery first, followed by any other groups real livery, followed by any blank or generic model (depending on your no generic / no blank setting). Within each of those levels it will randomly pick a livery that works if there is more than one available which is quite often the case for AIG and sometimes for FSLTL.
Perfect. That’s all I needed to know, thanks.
What I’ll do is shift my AIG install onto another drive then simply copy the stuff I need. Has anyone tried this with the models that have been converted (and are in the CVT folder), or is it those that are causing the crash? I’d really like to see the 757/767 etc back in the mix.
I should add two things;
- Be very careful about moving anything out of the AIG folder as you could stuff the whole lot. Only copy, never move
- This only applies if you’re using AIGround & AIFlow because using AIG models as normal causes the sim to crash. If you’re using neither of those programs you can simply leave the AIG folder alone and FSLTL will fill in the gaps with AIG models.
Hello, I just did this just now, I put all the AIG planes in the FSLTL directory and sat at OMDB and it’s WOW. It works. I even removed all the FSLTL planes from the directory and also put the AIG sound file and my airport works fine.
Did you try the CVT versions? Hopefully you understand what I mean.
no, you should not put the .cvt directory.
FSLTL will create a new one.
Why remove the FSLTL planes though? Then what you have is 100% AIG but using the FSLTL injector?
Hi Has anyone seen planes pushing back, starting one engine then disappearing. Its happened a few times in Gatwick this morning - completely uninstalled FSLTL (1.2.1) and reinstalled and seems to be ok for now.
- I did it to see if the planes had a good match.
- Yes I use FSLTL injector with only 100% AIG aircraft.
It works very well.
I can’t see a specific thread for this so I guess, as it is for FSLTL, it’ll do.
This morning I decided to try the FSLTL / PSXT / RealTraffic combination. I am not really one for using multiple programs as I expect the more that’s open, the more FPS hit, but there we go
So I paid for a month of RealTraffic and got it all set up.
It is as accurate as you can get although I suspect, given some limitations/bugs in how aircraft position data is relayed, some odd things will happen.
I set myself at Anchorage and every aircraft movement happened exactly as I saw on FR24, and to within a couple of seconds.
There was even an Alaskan Cargo 737 which had taxied from one stand to another on FR24, this also happened in the sim (not sure what was going on there.)
Correct arrival and departing runways. The aircraft movements can look a bit funny though. Takeoffs (might have been a one-off) from horizontal to steep climb position very quickly (almost like snapping from one to the other).
But so far I am very impressed overall.
I guess it overrides the sim ai engine. Not sure every aircraft was visible though when parked up. I think they still spawn just before departure (a squawk issue)?
