I sent a PM with some examples.
I think Iām getting the hang of speed management, but keep cutting my base turn short and coming in too high. Float city. ![]()
Landing at South Lake Tahoe (KTVL rwy 36, a right pattern due to terrain):
I have noticed, but it isnāt as bad as some others. Some models I simply do not fly in VR.
Plus, I typically get started on the flat panel. Then when Iām ready to taxi and the engine has good oil temp I slide the VR headset on and away we go! ![]()
The S4 has the best (most easy) controls for VR anyway, so the mesh issue hasnāt been a problem.
Good landing. As you say extending the downwind would make it easier for you. Potentially backing off the last bit of throttle a touch earlier would help on a shorter runway - but pretty smooth.
The hard bit with this thing as you say, is loosing speed (and not over speeding the 75 kt flaps while trying to do so) as once you get to the threshhold at the right speed she is almost STOL.
Strange, but hall sensors donāt suffer from jitter though.
Well it is, otherwise you would not hear it.. In any case a fix should be out today.

Hi All, a new version is now available via market place. If you are suffering from prop lever sounds anomalies please install version 1.3 from Market Place to correct it.
Thanks to all for the wonderful support and I apologies to anybody that was affected by this issue.
Regards,
Raul
Thanks for the update. I actually prefer it with the sound on - it is now much more in harmony with the movement of the lever on my controller.
Hi @SimbolFSReborn,
Can you please post a new (maybe the permanent kind?) link to your Discord? The one above has expired, and one I found on FlightSim.to in a repaint description is invalid as well. Thanks!
Hi Editer,
Thanks for letting me know, this invite should be permanent and non expiring:
The FlighSim.to was done by Rockview, he is a mod in my discord server, if you come along and explain the issue I am sure he will correct it.
Best,
Raul
Tried the Sting S4 (about 2 hours ago) after a bit of a break siming with other aircraft.
To me this is now one of very few aircraft I have that feels just about right. I think that it was pretty good on launch but to me seems so much better now.
Iāve never before really been that interested in Ultra Lights tbh but itās actually a really fun aircraft for short trips. Great for low and slow.
This has been one of my best buys (and a gift of a price imo) despite having no option but to buy it on the MP (my least preferred option).
I just picked this up too; the comments in this topic convinced me it was worth the purchase.
Really love how it feels, love the views, and wow, what a complete set of systems for an ultralight aircraft! Great plane for sightseeing.
Between this and the Chipmunk, looks like Iāll be flying low and slow for a while!
(Also, animation around the emergency chute is awesome.)
Yeah it ticks all the boxes good FM, lots of system depth especially in regard to failures, good modelling and textures (if you nose over it breaks the prop for example) and a keen developer who has already got a patch out and talks to users.
Thank you so much guys for the positive feedback, it feels me with a lot of Joy to see my hard work and passion for my products being appreciated.
I am now compiling the next set of updates for the Sting S4, it will include more feature requests that were made via the FSReborn discord channel and in addition I am trying to squeeze on the next update a new set of components for the maintenance module, so if everything goes to plan, we should have new clickable spots in the EFB (Tablet) for the Alternator, Spark Plugs the Engine Starter and I am researching a couple more, in case you wondering, I add components failures only if I can simulate it properly, otherwise whatās the point right? in other words, I only do it, IF I can simulate the failure of the system with the SDK and with visible consequences, such as tyres blow up.. I did a full animation of those, so for example if I put Spark Plugs failures, I would do it only if I can make the engine rough with visible consequences.. it is all about the immersion.
In any case, now that I feel the product is very stable, the next update will take a little while to get released since I want to include all the above, please bear with me because I am finishing a project with //42 which I canāt talk about it yet due to NDAs and I also started the Piper M500 animations this week because I need to provide a basic flyable product to the sounds engineers soon so the M500 real airplane sound recordings can start. So I am working hard to move everything forward.
Donāt feel the S4 project is stalling, more updates and improvements are coming, I just need a bit of time for the next update to get all in place nicely.
Please donāt forget to rate the product via MP if you like it, every little helps to keep funding more developing and these updates.
All the best,
Raul
More? More? You really are spoiling us Raul ![]()
The new features sound fantastic though and I canāt wait (but I will!).
To be honest, I hardly ever buy on the Market Place and it didnāt even occur to me to leave a rating. I will correct this, however, next time Iām on the sim.
No worries, it will be a five star rating and well deserved ![]()
Piper M500! Sweet, looking forward to that.
Your addon is absolutly fantastic. FM, textures, sounds, system details, all top notch. A gorgeous little aircraft. The EFB is great and very easy to use with subtle details which makes the difference, like the auto zoom on the tablet, the linked tank filling and so on. And of course the system failures, wear and tear, just great! Congratulations for your work, five stars well deserved on the MP. Canāt wait to see your Piper M500, a very good choice.
Yes, I agree.
Itās great when a dev. goes the extra mile driven by enthusiasm and a desire to make his/her product the best it can be.
Itās good to see ![]()
Just a superb little plane.
I donāt know that I ever expected such a high fidelity ultralight!
Really happy to have this in my hangar. And I havenāt even ever pulled the chute!
My preference is to turn the auto camera off so you keep the real point of view. But with it on you get to see the back window blow out and the chute open. You can then open the canopy. In VR itās a blast!
I have to try it over water next.
As for the real airplane, itās such a glider I couldnāt imaging using the chute unless a wing fell off.
